Say No to Racism Due What is racism? The term racism is the feeling that character and individual capability depends on ones race. It refers to the belief that one’s race is superior to another and exercising discrimination to instil fear and inferiority based on one’s biological background. The mode of judging other races is based on myths rather than known facts. Where does racism happen? Racism occurs in many places ranging from workplace to social amenity locations. As matter of fact, racism is real in many scenarios composed of different race individuals interacting.

Who is a racist?A racist is a person with the belief that other races are inferior to his and for that reason substandard others by either mistreating or discriminating them based on race. A racist favours individuals from his race and humiliates the rest. What forms does racism take? Racism takes several forms ranging from verbal to non-verbal. Verbally, irritating words are used against individual’s f the minority race. Non-verbal racism is the most common. It may involve denial to access certain facilities such as restaurants as well as job access based on racial background.

Non-verbal discrimination is evident in particular attitudes and character that not only undermines a certain race but also denies them expected favours. Reverse racism is another form that has evolved in 21st century. As a result of activists fighting against discrimination against blacks, the white’s rights have been neglected. Internalised racism refers to discrimination among members in the same race based on minute differences in their physical appearance. For instance, among the blacks, lighter skins might be preferred to darker skinned individuals.

Is racism illegal? Racism is illegal and punishable by the law. All nations advocate for equal treatment of their citizens.Why are people racist? Historically people were grouped into different races based on their skin colour that lived differently. This historical contexts as well as existing myths made individuals believe that some races are superior to others.
