Cavalier poets are a group of English poets who are associated with King Charles 1 in the seventeenth century. They include poets such as Carew, Herrick, and Lovelace. King Charles who was a lover of fine arts highly supported poets who made poems on the arts. The poets grouped themselves with the king and became Cavalier poets. The work of these poets embodies the life of the upper class and pre-commonwealth England. They were known for mixing naiveté with sophistication (Tomain 1052).

Romantics poets

Romantic poets wrote poems during the romantic literary movement. Romantic poets were at the heart of the movement, where they got inspired by a desire for liberty and denounced the exploitation of the poor.  They highly emphasized the importance of every individual and emphasized that ideals should be followed instead of the rules and conventions that were imposed.
