Task: A memorable experience from childhood It is not about bragging or showing off, but my parents call me their champion while I am a role model to peers. For many years, I have been a benchmark and a point of reference. My story reigns in the society and has not faded with history despite advancement in age. While other people give attention to the courage and determination that marked the occasion, for me it has been a dream come true. The memorable experience in childhood did more that open up my eye to the greater sphere but also allowed me to appreciate the world in totality. Indeed, it was a one in a lifetime opportunity, which made me stand out among many peers making me a subject of discussion. I have always considered luck to be a luxury among few people who either have lost hope or prefer receiving free things. During the family vacation in Africa, I had a chance of visiting Maasai Mara national park in Kenya. At first I was reluctant to make the trip; however, after my parents convinced me that it will be a memorable experience, I decided to give it a try. Previously, I preferred visiting playgrounds, friends and making a good use of my bicycle; however, I gave up this opportunity for the memorable experience. Our journey to Kenya was interesting considering that we had many stopovers. It was not my first time to board a plane; however, I felt new and encouraged to work hard and reach the highest level of education. Arguably, this would allow me exploit-varied fields of development while also quenching my thirst for adventure. Consecutively, the opportunity allowed me to have an aerial view of different towns ranging from Amsterdam to Nairobi. Upon our arrival in the city, we received tour guides at the airport, which had earlier been booked by my parents. The first day involved having a taste of the variety foods prepared by the many cultures. The opportunity gave me a first-hand experience to taste what felt like food and others that that I found limited interest in having a bite. Nevertheless, my parents were receptive to the diverse cultures hence an encouragement. Day two was the day to remember that confirmed my worst fears while at the same time changing my view of the entire world. This was a day to take a view of the beautiful wildlife and nature, which has been admired by many people. It was a day to have a personal encounter the lion, Giraffes, baboons, monkeys, and other exciting sceneries only common to many in pictures and national geographic programs. Contrary to other days, I was happy; however, the excitement was laced with fears of what would happen while in the wild. The journey started from our hotel and by midday, the tour van had touched down at the clearance office. We were issued with three armed wildlife officials and an experienced tour guide to show us the way. I was able to take a picture with Giraffes, feed baboons and enjoy the soothing company of monkeys. My family members were happy as well with the turn of events as they unfolded. Nonetheless, the worst were yet to come. As the journey continued, I was able to have a glance of different snakes, trees and indigenous birds that from one region to another. The happy moments reigned in the day, and the laughter’s registered by different family members were enough to prove that everyone had the best day. The intriguing mixture of events allowed us to camp within the bushes where roasted meat was a delicacy. However, the soothing nature of events made a U-turn when a lion certainly appeared roaring. Contrary to the tour, guides advice that the area was free of any animals that could cause harm, my worst fears came into light. Unfortunately, it appeared from where I was sitting, and nobody could do anything to help. Considering the close proximity to me, making any short would be a fatal injury. As I was told earlier, a lion feels threated by suggestive movements; I curtailed and maintained the friendliest appearance. Perhaps, this made it change its mind of making me a delicacy hence turning away. My parents had this on camera and were very proud of me despite their fears. I was also proud of myself, and shared the video with my friends who valued me as a champion. Undoubtedly, this was the most memorable experience of my childhood. A Historical Character Whom I Would Like to Meet Many people say history repeats itself; however, if this was true I would have loved to meet Martin Luther King. Evidently, this one man has inspired my understanding of people and life, in general. His speeches and works of art have motivated respect of race and appreciation of diversity. Interestingly, if the world could have stayed without people like martin Luther King, what people see today would have been an impossibility. Equality could have been a thing of the past and slavery a common perception. The strong would have been enjoying their way while the weak work to make them happy. Undoubtedly, the whole world could have been in chaos. The contemporary development, technological advancement and high education systems that we enjoy would have been something enjoyed only by limited people. Apparently, the role of martin Luther King in streamlining ideologies, views and current policies makes him a role model to many people both black and whites. I am one person interested in knowing why everything exists. The adventure has made me admire various leaders for their role in the development of the world. Luther’s defining moment in Americas history makes him stand out among many people. His advocacy for jobs and freedom of people led to abolition of slavery and respect for human kind. In as much as everybody has a personal opinion, he is one person that deserves respect for bringing sanity into the world. For example, in America Birmingham was a key area where he played a key role in liberating black people and equally bringing sanity among the whites. The frequency of attacks on black homes in the city made it get Bombingham pseudo name. Against all odds, he defied a court order that prevented demonstrations ending up in prison. Following his release more demonstrations even came up leading to deliberations and respect we currently enjoy. Certainly, decency in the world is a responsibility of everybody; however, it at times prove difficult when people cannot reason. It, therefore, was the role of people like Luther, who have the courage and ability to face the world. In his dream, Luther wishes for unison between black and white people. Currently, the entire America enjoys leadership from a black president (President Obama) who has done more than induce equality globally. According to research, black people have demonstrated a high sense of leadership despite massive hatred against them. In essence, inequality has done more than take the world back. My love for equal chances, passion for freedom and education for remains a clear theme of life. As a future social activist, I am motivated to champion for a society free of racism, tribalism and corruption. I hope for a community with massive love for brothers, neighbours and friends. Despite, the massive input by people like Martin Luther King, more is still necessary. It is for this reason that I would love to meet this personality. Certainly, this is a historical character with an inevitable chastity to lead. Meeting him, therefore, is not only a motivation to my belief but also a chance to associate myself with the right side of history. Notably, martin’s death remains one of the regretted scenarios in history. He believed that no wall of separation should exist in the legal, political, social, and economic environments. However, despite the important role he played for the entire continent, he was shot in the hotel balcony. From this perspective, he has demonstrated love for America but did not get the chance to enjoy the fruits. Meeting such a person, therefore, is a blessing as it awards me an opportunity to thank him and recognise the massive efforts. In conclusion, the wheel of life takes people to different places. It also fosters realization of important events and most important, people who have greatly impacted on the society but have received limited recognition. Above all, if history was to repeat itself, a historical character that I would love to meet remains Martin Luther king. His concerted effort in breaking the chain of tribalism, racism, unemployment, and slavery stood for the present comfortable life. It is because of his dream that a black president exist, and various amendments have been fostered to protect the hard-earned freedom. I am an individual who always likes to know why and where things from. In this light, Martin Luther is a historical character that any upcoming revolutionary leader cannot fail to meet. The day the world turned upside down The lesson was first approaching, and the teacher had made up his mind about the class, but he was confused and had not even met one of the lesson’s requirements. Zack is one person in the class who had attracted attention of everybody if not in class but the entire school. He was a person liked by many lazy students but a friend to few serious fellows. His seriousness in studies was mainly apparent in the end of year exams where the merit positions did not favour him. Above all, he seemed to give a little attention to the change of events. As a matter of fact, he had left everything to the hands of his classmate, Sam, who was in charge of handling all assignments. He was like a thinking machine for Zack and one could wonder what kept the two together. Notably, this is because, as one benefited from another, the other gained nothing if not a little popularity he got for being close. However, on this particular day the world turned upside down for Zack, who was a parasite, lazy, but popular student. The teacher had previously given an individual assignment. Notably, it involved personal attributes and recognition of skills. Not in a lifetime could students hand in the same assignments, as there was not possibility of getting the same answers. In addition, it was an effort by the teacher to eliminate laziness and encourage the spirit of creativity and innovation. Zack did not care what the assignment’s intention; neither did he read its constituents. Like any other evening, he spared the assignment for his friend Sam who had been used to the trick for small favours. However, as the day unveiled things were not going according to Zack’s plans. Contrary to his expectations, Sam did not turn up for school. Apparently, he had got an injury while going home and was hospitalised. He therefore, could not make it school and handle Zack’s assignment. The desperate Zack sought for various options without success. First, he tried copying another student’s work but was found and aborted the plan. He also sought the help of a student friend from a higher class, but this too did not help, as his friend did not understand anything. Finally, he resorted to paying classmates using favours; however, this also seemed to bear not fruit as he was left alone. Things were not adding up, as he knew the consequences. The teacher was a no joke individual who wanted good work if not perfection. Certainly, this added more worries into his quagmire state. It was the first lesson of the day; therefore, there was limited time to concoct anything of substance. Since there was no option left, he resorted to the only foolish thing any student would take. He was to design the most appropriate lie close to the truth that the teacher could not detect. Interestingly, his lie involved the inability to handle his assignment because of excess work at home. According to him, the parents are always busy and come home late. Therefore, he takes care of other siblings in the evening leaving no time for assignments. After the concocted lie, he requested more time to deliver the assignment, which to his surprise was granted. However, the tricky part was being put outside the classroom alone to clear the assignment. He was used to being a parasite and did not take part in any learning activity. Finishing the assignment, therefore, was an uphill task for him considering that he did not remember anything. Class members were happy about it, as they knew it was the only way to help. Apart from being put in alone academic world without the normal forces to assist, the worst happened when his parents passed by school to check on their son’s progress. In as much as the offices were far from classrooms, when he spotted them entering the office, he knew all was over. In the office, they were told how their son had turned from a hardworking individual to a popular, lazy, and careless student who relied on others to do his assignments. His parents were not amazed as the situation was the same at home. As the parents noted, he did not do anything at home contrary to the assertions that work at home was overwhelming. According to his parents, Zack took limited attention to his studies prompting them to follow-up his progress. Surely, this was a day the world turned upside down. Read More
