Time Talks with an Accent by Rober Levine
Above is an interesting reading from Jeremy Refkin, in the form of a narration by a professor of psychology, who has worked in different countries on various assignments. As the narrator travels through different time zones and cultures, he has related the work atmospheres and lifestyle of these places with the meaning of time and punctuality that these people would perceive. The California-based professor finds the difference in his conception of time and punctuality, as he travels on a work assignment to Brazil. The explanation provided by him about the importance of time to Brazilians is well described with examples of different versions of the clock, at one particular time by these people. While Narrator requested at-least five people about the correct time, they all gave varied replies, even the official clock did not reveal the correct time. Over the period, the professor could connect a such understanding of time with varied cultures and lifestyles of different places, as people had diverse notions about punctuality and the meaning of time. (Levine)

The author further suggests that the reading habits of children are related to their family history and parents can help them learn new and innovative things, as they watch TV.
The author further suggests that parents should help children cultivate the habit of being assertive, rather than passive while viewing TV. (Drexler) Read More
