Solar power

The amount of solar energy that hits the earth is equal to the electrical output of 1 million Hoover Dams. The solar power from the sun powers our planet, warms the oceans, and is converted to food and fuel. In the face of the dwindling oil supplies that are locked in political debate, solar is a viable alternative. The trick is to capture a small amount of the solar energy and convert it to a form that we can use, such as electricity, that can be used to power our automobiles, factories, and homes. Recent political events and technological breakthroughs have made solar power more attractive as the price of oil rises in the hands of OPEC. The new politics of 'Green Power' have given solar energy more support throughout society and its widespread application could fundamentally change how we work and live. The widespread use of solar cells will shift the employment that is currently in the fossil fuel sector into the solar energy market. The eventual cost savings could eventually be utilized in areas other than energy such as health care and education. The development of solar energy would also remove our society from the tensions of the politics of oil. Currently the US is dependent on foreign oil, primarily from the Mideast, and our foreign policy needs to reflect our need for this source of energy. The widespread use of solar cells will shift the employment that is currently in the fossil fuel sector into the solar energy market. ...

The advantages and disadvantages about "solar power" in replacing the original power (gas, oil) in United States.
In truth, most people, probably, do not even think about where their energy and fuel comes from until it is turned off. Few things do not require a power or fuel source, especially today, when that energy not available everything can begin to fall apart. Unfortunately, fossil fuel based energy sources commonly used bring with them serious consequences to the environment, as well as, not being limitless. The initiative to encourage power and fuel alternatives continues to be debated. The “go green” movement suggest “renewable” energy sources. Climate changes, continuing pollution, and…

Solar Energy: The Original Power Source
A large portion of areas in developing countries is non-electrified. Therefore, there is the need to install energy generating recourses to satisfy world energy demand. Solar energy has turned out to be the most popular renewable sources of energy. As solar power reaches more competitive stages without any problems, it has shown a sustainability feature, therefore; it can serve millions without interfering millions of people. In developing countries, renewable energy is rapidly emerging as an alternative to other deleterious energy sources and fossil fuels. This outline explains the pros and…

Sources of Clean Energy
So the point is that the only way to avoid the global power crisis in future is to follow the policy of natural recourses saving and to use renewable sources of energy, such as solar energy, geothermal energy, wind power, water power, and biofuel. So renewable energy is 'energy derived from resources that are regenerative or for all practical purposes can not be depleted2'.…

Solar Energy
Carnivorous animals eat herbivorous animals .Thus the sun is the direct source of energy for the living beings on the earth. Man has made use of the energy of the sun since he came into existence. He uses solar energy for keeping himself warm, for heating, for cooking and for producing electricity. Fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum are getting depleted as they are non- renewable. Solar energy is the right alternative to the global energy crisis, as it is inexhaustible, abundant and free.…

Solar Power Generation
This is by far the primary consideration in the operation of power electronic devices. In Solar power generation, light from sunshine is converted by photovoltaic (PV) Solar panels into direct current (DC) electricity. For power electronics (in today's world and in the future) to enhance Solar power generation, this aspect (efficiency) is a vital consideration. Solar panels generally have a conversion ratio or Solar panel efficiency, which is an indication of their energy-conversion capability. PV enhancement strategies must include design considerations that improve their current efficiency…
