? Analysis Paper A personal sense of satisfaction helps a great deal in going ahead with any piece of work, in any field whatsoever. May it be in the work environment or a leisure one, it is very vital for a person to contain a certain level of self esteem, self confidence, and self motivation as well as have certain goals and objectives that he or she would like to carry out and strive to achieve. These factors must be possessed by each and every human being because they help greatly in the quest for achieving excellence. Keywords: confidence, esteem, motivation, goals Concepts of Self Esteem, Self Confidence and Self Motivation with respect to Goals and Objectives It is of immense importance for a person to be able to develop all these characteristics well within him. They are usually inherent and require some amount of potential to tap and exploit within an individual. Self esteem is particularly very important because it is a factor upon which a person bases himself upon through his own eyes. It is a sort of competent feeling that a person contains within himself as he tries to overcome the hurdles that life throws his way with a matter of confidence. Self confidence again is a dependent factor on a person having a certain amount of esteem for himself. It is the characteristic by which a person is able to regain and perceive the environment around him in a way better than others; in other words having confidence helps a person to come out of the fear of doing something or trying something new. Confidence helps to take initiatives and take control of situations. It thus goes hand in hand with self esteem greatly because unless a person contains a certain amount of belief in his own self with respect to any task that he might want to carry out, he will not be able to do so unless he possesses an ounce of zeal and esteem. Self motivation is yet another characteristic that every person has within himself but only few are able to tap and exploit as mentioned above. Motivation is the power by which one can induce himself or someone else to carry out a task or an activity with utmost confidence. Self motivation is when a person has the power and belief in his own self to do something and thus becomes his own personal driving factor towards the chalet of desire. In order to understand the same, one can easily witness how self esteem and self confidence are again required in order for a person to be motivated by his own self. If one does not possess enough courage or confidence, he will not be able to motivate himself in the long run. All these qualities take some time for people to tap into and bring out. They all require certain factors from the outside environment of a human being as well in order to be touched upon. For example, self esteem is an aspect that rises and increases every time a person is praised by others for doing a certain something. People usually tend to think higher of them once others begin to respect them, listen to them and take their advice. When people get attention and achieve success in copious amounts, their levels of self esteem automatically increase. (Dubrin, A) Much the same way, in the same process, a person also tends to increase his personal amounts of confidence once others begin to praise or compliment him on something. For example, taking any business enterprise into account, an entrepreneur would only be able to increase his sales and take his venture to a higher level if he was praised from the outside world. Only when he receives adulation from society will he become aware of whatever he is worth. One must try and tap this confidence and esteem on his own self, however, too much of the same, on the lines of an overdose can become a problem as people usually think that they are too good for anybody else and thus end up hurting and harming the environment around them. This usually leads to them losing out on their friends and family and they turn out to be aggressive and far too overconfident. Thus, these qualities must be tapped in proper balanced amounts in order for the person to not get harmed in the process. A person also tends to motivate himself if other people tell him that he is good at what he does and he will be able to assist other people well at the same job or task at hand. Motivation thus stems from confidence and esteem. (Branson, Richard) All these factors are ultimately driven by certain goals and expectations that people have. If one does not set any targets or objectives for himself, he will not be able to succeed in life. Only when a person is able to set a goal for himself is he able to achieve it. A route map or a blueprint works much the same way and thus most entrepreneurs, taking their example, tend to make blueprints that map out the entire course of their venture. This is done so that they maintain a consistency in terms of their zeal and enthusiasm for the project that they are working on. Despite having such positive feelings with respect to all these qualities and characteristics, possessing confidence, motivation and esteem can also turn out to be something negative completely in a person’s life. There are many ways by which people fall short of achieving these qualities. Since they are an inherent part of every individual on the planet, it would be obvious that everyone possessed them and made use of them. However, very few people are able to succeed in life and make a name for them. This is because they have been successful in creating out opportunities for themselves and have been able to overcome the obstacles in their path with the help of these qualities. They were able to set timely goals for themselves and achieve them as and whenever possible. Other people are not as successful perhaps because of a number of reasons. There might be a number of entrepreneurs out there waiting to start up their ventures but not being able to do so. A number of them must be facing failures every now and then and not having the proper skill, talent and or temperament to counter the problems and come up with creative solutions for the same. This is because of the way that they have been brought up and the outlook that they have towards life. To possess the qualities talked about within this paper, a person only needs to have proper guidance and assistance to be able to bring them out into the light. Many people end up having a bad childhood where they might have been the end result of dejection and might have faced a lot of neglect. Such people are not able to carry on in their lives easily with respect to bringing out these latent emotions within them. It becomes very tough for them to be able to gather enough courage to have the confidence and to be able to motivate them to achieve better results in their everyday lives. (Martin, Gary) Many people are expected to be perfect all the time by their parents, they might live very rigid and strict homely lives and are not allowed to have fun once in a while or take certain risks. All this starts at the childhood level where parental guidance is the one thing required for young children to be able to cultivate a mature and understanding environment within their bodies. When children are left out of such an opportunity, they tend to take longer in life when it comes to their career and education, in order to be able to harness the sources of motivation, esteem and confidence within themselves. Thus, this is what separates a business environment from being successful and unsuccessful – entrepreneurs. They are change agents that society requires and are able to easily help people in meeting their needs and demands for things all around them. They are able to do so because of these qualities within them. People look up to them with praise because they are able to influence themselves and base themselves on the characters that these people put forth for them to follow. (Nowshade, Kabir) Therefore, in conclusion, this is why and how the concepts of self esteem, confidence and motivation are required in a person’s life in order to help him meet his ultimate goals.
