Introduction Here the anomalies that plastic surgery caused to three major celebrities will be discussed, in consideration of whether plastic surgery is good or bad. Through using examples of celebrity plastic surgery gone wrong, it will be examined if the benefits of plastic surgery outweigh the potential negatives. After having witnessed the results of plastic surgery on Heidi Montag, Michael Jackson, and Meg Ryan, it is possible that more can go wrong than planned with plastic surgery.

Imagine if you had plastic surgery to enhance your image—and then everything turned out completely ruined. Heidi Montag, Michael Jackson, and Meg Ryan all had surgeries which drastically destroyed their good looks—so is plastic surgery really worth the risk? This speech will examine that risk in-depth. Having studied the plastic surgeries of several celebrities and others which have been witnessed firsthand, through viewing before and after shots, the damage that plastic surgery can do to one’s body is scary and it should be investigated as to whether or not plastic surgery is really worth the potential problems that could ensue afterward.

Plastic surgery on actress Heidi Montag, musician Michael Jackson, and actress Meg Ryan turned out so terribly that it makes one question why one would want platic surgery at all. Without further ado, let’s look at three examples of plastic surgery gone majorly wrong. II. Heidi Montag’s Full-Body Surgeries TV actress Heidi Montag’s 13 surgeries were too much too soon, and it shows. She had several surgeries on her face and head. According to “The Heidi Montag Plastic Surgery List” (2011), Heidi Montag’s multiple surgeries included “a mini brow lift, a nose job, botox in forehead and frown area, fat injections in her nasolabial folds and lips, a chin reduction, a neck liposuction, and had her ears pinned back” (pp. 1). Montag also had an unsually large breast augmentation, which meant she got breast implants which gave her size G-cup breasts.

She later claimed that she now wants to go back to size D or size double D (DD) (“Heidi Montag Wants Huge Breast Implants OUT,” 2011, pp. 1). Heidi also had her lower body significantly changed with plastic surgery. She had liposuction on her waist, hips, and inner and outer thighs, as well as a buttock augmentation. She frequently complains of being in extreme pain and cannot pick up her pets or even exercise because she is in so much pain from her surgeries. She has frequently said that she feels “like a prisoner in her own body” to various news outlets.

Although Heidi’s surgeries could be considered extreme, Michael Jackson’s surgeries on his nose were also notorious. III. Michael Jackson’s Multiple Nose Surgeries While one does not want to speak ill of the dead, the now-deceased Michael Jackson’s nose was non-existent, sources at his death say, and it was all due to the fact that he had had several rhinoplasties on his nose. Michael Jackson had several rhinoplasties over the years—possibly perhaps 20 or more. He had had at least more than 10 surgeries on his nose which could be confirmed (“Michael Jackson,” 2011, pp. 1). One doctor had treated him in the ‘80s, and in the ‘90s and beyond he relied heavily on Dr.

Arnold Klein for his surgeries on his nose. At one point, Michael Jackson had a fake prosthetic tip on his nose. The tip served to cover the end of Michael’s nose. The tip was noticeable, but it was not certain if he had a prosthetic nose at that point. It was later rumored that there was a hole under the prosthetic tip. Before his death, Michael Jackson’s entire nose was believed to be fake, and by the time of his death, his nose had gotten lost. At his autopsy, there were only some holes left where the nasal cavity was.

There was only jagged cartilage left, and that was all that remained besides the holes for his nasal cavity, making his face look like a skeleton. While not as extreme as Heidi Montag’s full-body surgeries or Michael Jackson’s nose surgeries, Meg Ryan’s various surgeries on her face and lips have given her some unflattering looks as well. IV. Meg Ryan’s Face and Lip Surgeries Film actress Meg Ryan’s surgeries drastically changed the appearance of her face and lips. Meg Ryan was in a car crash a few years ago which slightly damaged her lip.

Afterwards, she had lip surgery which turned out awful. Meg Ryan got the famous look of “duck lips” (“Meg Ryan,” 2011, pp. 1). “Duck lips” are in reference to where where the lips are protruding so much so that the resulting surgery looks like a duck’s beak. Meg Ryan also had subsequent facial surgeries which turned out badly. She eventually had cheek implants, which gave her the look of a chubby squirrel. The cheek implants bloated her face. Meg Ryan also had a facial procedure which gave her a much wider smile.

This surgery made her look like the character The Joker from the movie Batman. As one can see, plastic surgery does not always turn out well, and even getting minor procedures can change one’s life forever—and not for the better. V. Conclusion Perhaps hearing about all these famous celebrities in the news who had plastic surgery anomalies will make one think twice before getting plastic surgery—because, as the evidence has shown, even famous peoples’ surgeries can turn out horribly if not done correctly.

Heidi Montag, Michael Jackson, and Meg Ryan are all examples of celebrities who had plastic surgery that went horribly wrong—and hopefully this will dissuade other people from wanting to surgically or otherwise augment their bodies for aesthetic reasons. The surgeries that have been described here clearly demonstrate that having injuries after the fact might hopefully deter anyone who is thinking about getting plastic surgery to re-evaluate their options—including deciding if tragically negative results are a possibility they are willing to live with should their plastic surgery go horribly wrong.
