Effects of oil spillage to the Dalian population In what ways does oil spillage affect Dalian population? It is apparent that oil spillage could be a contentious issue. For example, in 2010, Dalian city experienced a disastrous oil spillage. The effects of the disaster were detrimental in that ports operations were disrupted as millions of gallons of oil spilled destroying several structures. With such disasters, it is imperative to focus on the effects that face the people and the environment in order to develop mechanisms of preventing and controlling them if they take place. In addition, such findings tend to foster disaster preparedness in the future. Besides, the concerned parties and stakeholders needs to have a clear picture of effects of such disasters before developing mechanisms of dealing with them in the future. This article articulates on the effects of trade on the environment. Specifically, the author focused on two Chinese cities, Shenyang and Dalian. Its theoretical approach underpins the connection between trade and environment. Conversely, the article examines effects of global economic integration and how the major actors respond to environmental policies as well as assessing ways of minimizing the environmental risks involved as a result of trade. The article findings indicate that strengthening of environmental institutions as well as economic openness plays a part in domestic environmental policies. This article is essential in finding out the importance of investigating effects of oil spillage in that it outlines some of the basic issues that leads to environmental policy development and implementation. Uncontrolled development which is characterized by numerous disasters such as oil spillage can lead to serious environmental issues. The article would be instrumental in highlighting the recommended measures that can help in realizing sustainable development. In addition, the article gives an insight of the required policies that can be endorsed to control environmental deterioration caused by various environmental issues including disasters such as oil spillage. In its findings, the article outlines the idea of less environmental deteriorations when industrialization was in its initial stages. Nevertheless, the shortcomings started to be experienced as industrialization continued. Some of the shortcomings included poverty and economic inequality. In addition, environmental issues were evident as there were uncontrolled developments as a result of industrialization. This article is critical because it highlights important issues related to effects of industrialization. In his findings, the author indicates that in the initial stages of industrialization, there were fewer shortcomings related to environmental issues. Therefore, it is apparent that continued uncontrolled industrialization can lead to unsustainable development, which is characterized by numerous social, political, economical and environmental problems. According to Behm, the journal of safety health and environmental research articulates on the economic development in relation to technological development. Basically, it argues that the continuous advancement of technology has given a boost to the life of human beings in the twenty first century. Actually, the article gives specific technological advancement on chemical related products such as petrochemical, oil and gas especially in bringing more complex systems and processes. In addition, the article emphasizes on the dangers that are posed by most of these products and as such gives suggestions on the importance of safety in relation to human population. None the less, Behm concludes the article by giving various ways in which safety measures could be practiced. In this regard, this article is supportive in this research through its various ways of addressing safety. It is to be noted that Oil spillage has continuously posed adverse dangers to human beings within and without its sources. Moreover, it assert the challenges that advanced technology directly posses to people. As such, it gives suggestion of how human beings should seek safety issues on the chemical related products. Of importance to note is that chemical related products such as oil are most tragic and their main victims are human beings. According to the author, this journal focuses on the challenges experienced by human beings especially after and disaster has occurred. Apparently, the journal incorporates a case study on a specific part of Nigeria –Kwara State where people living in both urban and rural areas have been faced by adverse challenges due to existing weather conditions. In essence, the article argues on various ways in which such challenges in relation to natural disasters should be handled. Of importance to note is that what matters during such challenges understands the magnitude of vulnerability to such disasters in varying geographical location. In light of the current research where we seek to understand the effects of oil spillage in Dalian population, it is worth noting that the article gives suggestions on the how the government of China and other stake holders should handle the ever occurring disaster of oil spillage. Apparently, oil spillage directly affects population through explosion, soil and water pollution and forceful displacement of human population. In essence, the article gives specific instances where there emerges the necessity to protect riparian vegetation in three cities namely: Hillsboro, Oregon City and Portland. None the less, adverse loss of the vegetations was experienced as result of rapid development that was witnessed in the given cities. As a result, the article emphasizes on the importance of management particularly so on minor projects as opposed to major projects. In reference to the current research, the article plays a huge role in giving assistance towards emphasizing the importance of human population especially in the cities. As a matter of facts, the article argues that the steady growth in population in cities is directly connected to natural ecosystems and the environmental resources within the urban areas. Hence, human population in Dalian is mainly affected the rate of occurrence of oil spillage and its consequent effects on the environment. Consequently, strategic management should be taken into consideration in planning for the environment as one factor the increases human population. Preliminary Discussion It is apparent that the effects of oil spillage are directly related to human population in Dalian being one of the busiest cities with a high turnover in oil production. However, the effect of oil spillage goes beyond Dalian population into other factors that are interconnected (Mohr, Webb & Harris, 2001). To begin with oil and its related products are as a result of continuous industrialization that has been witnessed in China and other parts of the world. Furthermore, there is increased environmental political social and economic growth (Spilsbury & Spilsbury 2012). In contrast to this advancement, there are some makeable challenges that have faced the oil industry for the longest period. These challenges include; explosion of petroleum pipelines during the transfer of oil from one product to another that later translates to increased frequent environmental disasters leading to a toxified environment with health issues especially to fishing industry and consumers. In general, the effect of oil spillage squarely falls on human population (Moffett & Inkpen, 2011). Therefore, this study chose the qualitative approach because it uses a theoretical framework of secondary sources of academic books and journal emanating from renowned scholars in the field. Research Outline Introduction The issue of oil spillage has detrimental effects both to the environment and population living in the neighborhoods. According to Chowdhury & Hassan (2012), previous oil spills have been documented to have severe effects to the environment and people living around. Investigation of effects of oil spillage can be used to design policies to curb the menace (Berman, 2009; National Research Council Committee on Cumulative Environmental Effects of Oil and Gas Activities on Alaskas North Slope, 2003). Literature review Investigation of effects of globalization by Shin, (2004) denotes that the uncontrolled development as a result of trade can have negative impacts on the environment. Zhao, et al. (2013) postulated that political, social, environmental, and economic factors of populace living in the polluted areas are negatively affected. Shin (2004) argued that a critical review of the current environmental challenges and their impacts could be used to regulate harmful developments. Methodology A qualitative review of secondary sources is necessary for the current study.
