Environmental pollution In this journal, the base their theme on the effects of environmental pollution that is increasing rapidly in the world. They describe the current pollution to have reached worrying proportions due to the rampant urbanization and industrialization that is core in economic growth. These factors have led to the increase in energy consumption and waste discharge. Pollution is also increasing due to greenhouse emissions and acid deposition that leads to water pollution due to the poor waste management.

Water pollution affects the aquatic creatures and the continuous pollution cause death and if not looked upon may lead to the extinction of the aquatic animals and plants. In the end, it becomes a national health problem and later turns out to be an international problem (Kelishadi, Mirghaffari, Poursafa & Gidding, 2009). The journal also provides the various health effects that are caused by environmental pollution. Perinatal disorders, infant mortality, respiratory diseases, allergies, cardiovascular disorders, stress oxidative, and mental disorders are some of the most dangerous disorders brought about by pollution.

Bearing this in mind, the authors are of the notion that every individual should take action and control the environment. The authors also use scientific knowledge to strengthen their allegation on the adverse effects of environmental pollution (Kelishadi, Mirghaffari, Poursafa & Gidding, 2009). In conclusion, the authors call for the increase of awareness on the effects of pollution to the public to help in mitigating pollution. They also call on the health professionals take the initiative to help prevent and reduce the harmful effects of environment factors (Kelishadi, Mirghaffari, Poursafa & Gidding, 2009).
