Analysis of Sources of Energy in the Local Community However, the world is facing a severe energy crisis due to the continuous and common use of nonrenewable energy resources for energy production. These nonrenewable resources are going to end soon, however the scientists do not predict the exact date about this. The use of these nonrenewable resources is very common and the people are unaware of the harmful effects of its extinction. The most common sources of energy production in our local community are petroleum, electricity, natural gas, coal and nuclear power. All of these are scarce resources and the world should reduce its usage in routine life. Petroleum is extracted and thus used as a fuel for many of the automobiles. Electricity is generated and thus used in the homes as the major power supply. Natural gases are used to extract many other gases, which are then used for heating purpose in homes and to burn the stoves in the factories and industries. Coal is mostly used for electricity generation in the compressed or extracted form. Therefore, we can say that all of these nonrenewable sources of energy are actually used in massive amounts for daily life purposes in our local community (Machado, 2011). According to my point of view, the excessive use of these nonrenewable sources of energy is not at all good for the surrounding environment of the people. The extinction of these sources of energy will create many of the problems. Some of the problems, which we are facing today, include acid rain, green house effect, land pollutions, soil erosion and oil spills. Non renewable sources are those energy producing resources which do not generate according to the natural process of regeneration like many other resources in the planet are producing as a result of natural process (Khanna, 2012). Some of the non renewable resources includes those resources which actually disturbs the whole environment when they convert or compress in any other form for being used by the people. There are adverse atmospheric effects of these nonrenewable resources. The processing of fossils fuels emits dangerous gases, which causes the green house effects and the dangerous and harmful activities in the ozone layer. Unlike the renewable energy producing resources i.e. air, water and sunlight, almost all the non-renewable resources emit dangerous gases which causes pollution in the environment and thus creating a great havoc for the human beings. Acid Rain is included in the list of most harmful effects on the atmosphere and the human beings. It is caused by the emission of excessive amount of sulfur and other in toxic chemicals, which react in the atmosphere and thus cause acid rain. This acid rain is very dangerous for the people and the crops especially. Land pollution is caused by these atmospheric changes. The land pollution thus affects the crop production of any economy. The oil spills from the automobiles in the gulfs and seas is very much dangerous for the marine life. Even some of the species do not even survive against the small amount of these oil spills. There is no nuclear dispose off in the locality where we live. However, the environment and the surrounding are polluted because of many other factors but still we are safe from nuclear wastes. All these atmospheric changes will show their impact on human life and other living beings in a severe manner in the coming days or we can say future. Any person who owns a little knowledge or observation about the atmospheric changes and the environment conservation can easily predict the future of the world. Soil erosion and the land pollution will cause draughts in the future because of the shortage of vegetables and fruits. Crop production is badly damages due to these acid rains, green house effects, and other land polluting factors. Moreover, marine life is also not safe anymore from the harmful effects of the changes in the environment. The polluted seawater is reducing the age of marine lives (The Impact of Commitment on Non-Renewable Resources Management with Asymmetric Information on Costs, 2010). In our local community, the excessive use of the non-renewable energy producing resources has adversely affected the quality of water. Even sometimes, we have to face the shortage of drinkable water. The amount of salts is increased in the water that it can cause problems for the human health. Similarly, the air pollution causes many lungs diseases in the people because of the intake of many of the dangerous gases from the atmosphere (Nooten 2010). Calculation of Average Energy Consumption of Home: A survey shows that the average household consumption of the energy is 903 kWh (kilo watt hour) in a month of 30 days. Now we can calculate the average household energy consumption on yearly basis using the simple formula; Monthly usage of household energy * No. of months in a year = Household energy usage per year 903 * 12 = 10836 kWh per year Now e get the answer in the form of single house energy consumption, if we have to find out the total amount of energy used by the whole community in a single year then we have to multiply the number of houses in the community with the energy consumption of single house. No of Houses in the community * Energy consumption of single house = energy consumption of the whole community 60 * 10836 = 650160 kWh Therefore, we calculate the annual household energy consumption of the whole community as 650160 kWh. Substitute Power Supply Source for Our Community: After the above discussion, we have come to know that the use of all the nonrenewable sources of energy is not at all goof for the society. Therefore, we should change our systems and procedures towards the use of renewable energy producing resources. However, the transition from nonrenewable to renewable resources is very difficult and time taking but we cannot say that it is impossible. We can use the renewable resources in every field of life where we are already using the nonrenewable resources. There is excess of sunlight and heat in our community. We can easily use the power of sunlight for power generation. Wind and water can also be used as the alternate possible renewable energy producing resources. Solar energy can be directly used for heating and lighting purpose at homes and different commercial buildings. Solar plates are available in order to save to sunlight energy. These solar plates are usually placed at the top of the building or we can say at the roof of the building, it gradually get charged due to absorption of direct heat falling on the plate and then it reproduce power in the form of required electricity. Another renewable form of energy is the wind energy, which is generated using the wind turbines. These turbines are huge in size and thus produce enough power to provide electricity to any building. Biomasses are used to create bio energy, which is also used for different purposes and useful in every aspect. Hydrogen is the key element, which is present in abundant form on the earth. It is also a main constituent of water. The hydrogen is very important to produce energy. The presence of hydrogen is evident as the combination with any other element and thus it make compounds. For example, water molecule by combining with the oxygen atoms. The separation of hydrogen atoms is necessary to burn it and thus getting energy out of it. Another renewable form of energy is the geo thermal energy, which refer towards the use of internal temperature and heat of the earth in order to produce the energy. We can say that the world is full of nonrenewable and renewable energy sources. The only thing is the efforts to change the systems and the procedures of the planet. We are now making excessive use of nonrenewable energy resources, which is harmful for ourselves. Despite this we have abundance of renewable energy resources which are not that much harmful for energy production. Therefore, we require a strong transition from nonrenewable energy resources towards the renewable energy resources. Because, in this way we can save our natural environment for our future and for the coming generations.
