It is also worth noting that the statement does not apply to the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale, “The Frog King.” This is attributed to the fact that no character is portrayed in the fairy tale as ferocious. However, the young princess can be said to be cunning since she made a promise to the frog and did not want to honour it. If it were not for her father, she would not have honoured her promise.

2. "But the wolves have ways of arriving at your hearthside." (143). The statement implies that bad people or individuals we perceive as harmful have ways of coming close to us and becoming our friends. In the fairy tale Bluebeard, the rich villain always had his way of convincing the young girls into marrying him. In this, it can be said that he had a way of arriving at their hearthside. On the other hand, in the story, “The Frog King” the young princess can be said to be the wolf. This is attributed to the fact that she was reluctant to honour her promise to the frog. However, after throwing the frog on the wall and the frog transforming into a young, handsome prince, she now accepts to be his companion and even agrees to marry him.

3. "Fear and flee the wolf; for worst of all, the wolf may be more than he seems." (144). This statement implies that one should run away from danger when they see it coming. This is attributed to the fact that sometimes, bad people may disguise themselves as good people just to deceive others. This statement can apply to Perrault’s “Bluebeard” since the rich villain in the story pretends to be a good person so that he may win the hearts of the virgin girls he wants. Therefore, this statement could be beneficial to the young girls who are his prey. On the other hand, the statement does not apply in the fairy tale, “The Frog King” by the Brothers Grimm. This is attributed to the fact that the young girl who is portrayed as cunning and may be equated to the wolf embraced the frog after it had turned into a handsome prince. Therefore, it was wise for the frog to insist on being close to the young princess instead of fleeing.
