Shame by Dick Gregory and Eleven by Sandra Cisenros
For this paper, I would be comparing two essays about shame: the first, Shame, written by Dick Gregory and the other, Eleven, by Sandra Cisenros. The comparison would be confined into four aspects: the setting, the ages of the protagonists, the teacher and the mood.
Shame and Eleven were both mainly set in school – the place wherein the “shameful” experiences unfolded. The essay, Eleven, however, specifically chose the classroom exclusively in its narrative.
