24 June My most substantial achievement: My most substantial achievement is theestablishment of my own construction company, I view it as such because having come from a background of Chemical Engineering, it was thrice as difficult for me to achieve this goal as it would have been for someone who formally gained expertise in construction work through study of Civil Engineering program. My landing into the construction sector was no less than a miracle. It so happened that right after my graduation, I secured the job of a quality control / quality assurance (QA/QC) engineer.

Being a chemical engineer, I was eligible to check the quality of cement, sand, bricks and mortar etc. As time passed, I began to develop interest in the use of these materials. The whole idea of using these materials to construct mega-structures fascinated me. In an attempt to gain an in-sight to the construction work, I consulted some of the most experienced civil engineers. I collected information about what all was required to make a construction company. Once I thought I had collected sufficient information to be able to establish a construction company, the next challenge in front of me was to arrange the sum needed to achieve this.

My meagre savings discouraged me from going any further until a friend of mine assured me all financial help provided that I made him a sleeping partner of my business. I happily agreed to that. I acquired the money, compiled all necessary documents, and applied for registration. It took me no longer than two months to establish my own construction company.
