Processes and Policies of China’s Urbanization Introduction Urbanization can be defined as a multifaceted and complex process which involves migration of population from rural to urban regions, spatial reconfiguration of settlements, rural and urban land dynamics, and dynamics of management and governance. This paper investigates and analyses the various changes that contribute to urbanization in China. This may involve the complimenting changes in the rights to property. Demographic aspects of China’s urbanization will also be examined.

The following study will also look into the changes in Administration of regions and the Administrative policies aimed at managing urbanization in ChinaAnnotated BibliographyZhu, Jieming, “Local growth coalition: the context and implications of China’s gradualist urban land reforms,” International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Vol. 23, No. 3 (1999): 534−548In the above journal, Zhu discusses the process and end results of changes in China’s land tenure system.
