The intention of this study is to examine the results of environmental conditions and changes occurring due to physiological factors on ‘dry eye’. It is also known as Chronic Ocular Irritation. Dry eye is also called keratoconjunctivitis sicca. It is also said as keratitis sicca. This is an inflammatory disorder of the tear gland system. It also involves the attack of inflammatory cells inside the lacrimal glands. Meibomian glands are also a part of it. Blinking is an act of an eye used to spread tears on eye surface. In certain conditions dry eye is a result of tear produced in excess. These tears are almost made up of water and cause problem to eye. Tears in eye have many functions. Emotions are expressed, lubrication is provided and unwanted particles are washed, eye’s surface is maintained, and infection is also prevented with the help of tears. Whenever the mechanism of eye stops responding in a proper manner, the reason behind this problem is the imbalanced ratio of tear production from eye and its proper drainage. The outcome of this condition is dry eye. Reduced quantity of tears in eye than the required one, results in dry eye. The sub division of this condition is collagen vascular. Sjogren disease is related to KCS. Non-Sjogren is linked with KCS. This disease is spread all over the world and found in every race of people. The majority of the victims are females. The intention of this study is dry eye as a disease of the tears. The cause of dry eye involves multiple factors. The optical surface of eye is put to discomfort. The suffering people object that their eye is feeling dry, sore, burning, gritty, scratchy and irritated at the same time. They also complain about their blurred vision. Damage is done to the front surface of eye. Vision is also affected because it is impaired reflexively. Blinking is an act of an eye used to spread tears on eye surface.
