Spreading out onto a larger scale, it also includes values like listening which can be used to gain trust and confidence from one’s members. The value of stewardship is also important in leadership, especially in the larger community setting, in some instances in supporting advocacies for the organization. The second level of leadership is on one’s behaviors and actions. One’s behavior and actions first includes admitting of one’s mistakes, actively listening to other’s verbal and non-verbal cues, engaging and motivating the team to identify issues which would likely impact on the organization, and to be active in advocacies and environmentally-focused activities.

Beyond the building of values are actions and actual behavior. On an individual scale, a strong leader is one who can admit his mistakes. This is an often difficult undertaking for most leaders because most feel that their authority and their impact as a leader would be reduced by the admission of mistakes (Reina and Reina 2007). Nevertheless, it is an important part of being a strong and effective leader because it helps the members build a strong and open relationship with the leader. Moreover, actively listening to the members is also an important element of leadership, one which includes an intuitive quality – to enable one to assess non-verbal cues from members and to use these to one’s advantage.

In considering the different areas of focus, on an individual level, I want to be recognized for my courage with people from my team able to easily approach me for their concerns. Being a strong leader is also about using the SWOT analysis to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, and on the societal scale, to participate in environmental advocacies in Arizona. The ability to carry out SWOT analysis is an essential part of any organization because these are specific elements of any organization from which assist in establishing the important qualities of the organization – qualities which it can use for improvement (Koo and Koo, 2007).

Environmental advocacies are also crucial to the betterment of any organization. These advocacies help complete the goals of the organization, making the leadership more holistic. In effect, leadership must go beyond personal or even organization goals; they must be inclusive of activities which encompass philanthropy and environmental causes. As a leader, these are causes which can assist in greater sustainability. Finally, in terms of impact, on an individual level, a strong leader is one which can be trusted by the team.

On the interpersonal scale, the leader’s communication with the team members is improved and the goals are promptly shared. On an organizational scale, a strong team impacts on the organization by coming up with an appropriate plan of action. And finally, on a societal scale, a strong leader has a strong impact in terms of its participation in the protection of life, ecosystems, and biodiversity. As a leader, I consider myself trustworthy primarily because the members of my team can easily approach me and express their opinions, displeasure, suggestions, and questions.

They know I am open to their concerns and that I will listen to all their
