Counselors’ Decision-Making Tools Task Introduction In decision-making, there are various factors that limit the application of practices before execution of the actual activity is undertaken. There are several factors that humanity has to adhere to before deciding on the right channel of material to apply in dealing with a crisis. The similar concept extends to the policy-makers and individuals who determine the livelihood of the society. Without proper ethical codes, there may be difficulty in adjusting to nature’s provisions.

There may be severe physical complications involved especially when the element being described is toxic. Ethics are essentially the codes governing the actions of individuals that require positive or negative response to a situation. Mostly ethics are based on the necessity to justify a meritorious action that does not limit the freedom or positive behavior in an individual. The legal elements articulate the law elements that support an activity. The restrictions against the counselor’s scope of activity or performing duties that they are not specialized to undertake.

LCDC need to apply various tools to complete their functions properly fulfilling NAADC’s requirements and produce better diagnosis.Counselors are required to uphold the element of discretion when handling their clients. There are lists of ethical and legal values that must guide them when handling vulnerable clients they contact daily. Licensed Chemical dependency counselors (LCDC) are obligated to service delivery that upholds the law and limit any forms of injustice of flaw in client satisfaction.

To achieve this fete, there are numerous guidelines that the ethical and legal guidelines offer to promote work efficiency. They are required to identify the rules that the government have invented to control the scope of their duties. Each nation holds a provision for its workers to adhere to when conducting their selected duties. These principles are specifically created by the nation to help them serve the clients better and aid in referring to the different case being handled. There may be variable examples of the client’s constraints that may require separate actions to be undertaken.

The decisions made by the counselors need to uphold the societal ethics and system of governance because the majority of the cases are instigated via experiences in the family setting. An added concept that would help produce a better result in counseling involves consultations with other professionals who may better comprehend the diagnosis (Levin, Culkin & Perotto, 2001). Finally, the counselor should hold the concept that lies in the realization of their specialty. A counselor should undertake his/her duty according to their scope of function.

A counselor possesses a limited amount of expertise especially in coping with multiple cases. They should limit their services to the areas that they find suitable to their qualification. This attribute would ensure excellent result and create a successful outcome in their diagnosis.NAADAC articulates a set of principles for the counselors to possess in accomplishing sufficient results. Counselors are required to respect the client’s freedom in the decisions they incorporate in their lives (Baugus, 1996).

They should allow them to make choices on the nature of treatment they would want applied. Another code necessitates the clients to be just and perform their duties sufficiently. They should channel their efforts towards the virtue of helping other and promoting customer satisfaction. Finally, NAADAC provides an entity of being just. There should be a similar level of client satisfaction and attendance. No discrimination or unequal service should be offered to some clients and all clients deserve fair treatment.

ConclusionThese qualities help the counselor to advance further in their discipline with most clients bearing several challenges upon the profession. The society normally dictates a corrupt system and a difference in unequal service delivery. Through following these provisions, counselors are able to contribute to better individual and societal development than in an unqualified counselor (Toriello & Benshoff, 2003).ReferencesBaugus, M.
