By addressing this particular question, the management would have an opportunity to figure out the necessary step that ought to have the first priority. While answering this particular question, medical professions should be able to answer what is value in health care.

This would help them to come up with a permanent methodology and strategy in fall measuring. The other question is whether the right mechanism is applied in leadership of the institution to enhance patient safety in the institution. The other principal question to address is whether everyone was ready to adapt a new technological method of web-based analytical and reporting system. Implementation of the system would play a significant part in reducing medical errors. This would enhance patient safety in the institution (Varkey, 2010). 2. Which criterion-based quality measurement method would apply in this case study?

Data extraction is the best criterion-based measurement method that would be suitable in this particular case. The best method to use in data extraction is trending measurement .This is because the method is suitable in determining the study population and sampling methods. Data extraction enhances application of statistical indicators in order to make also assist in quality improvement (Varkey, 2010). 3. What makes a measurement method usable for staff and management? The main reason that makes trending measurement to be usable for both staff and management is that it has elements, which are easy to use and construct.

For example, some of the elements in this measurement method includes run charts and control charts. Other elements to use in trending measurements include trigger tools (Varkey, 2010). All of the above tools are easy to construct and interpret. Most of the medical professions use trending measurement in order to work out sensitive statistical analysis. For example, medical professions use control charts to process measure. They also use the charts to identify process variation. Medical professionals also manage to use trigger tools when trying to examine various issues that could harm a patient.

In order for the measurement method to be usable, it has to be relevant and evidence-based. Moreover, the measurement method ought to be reproducible and valid. Another issue to consider is that the method ought to be feasible. When the method has all of the above characteristics, it is easy for the staff and management to use (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2011).4. Who is responsible for entering primary data for quality management? The person responsible for entering data ought to be the local partner of the health center.

The entitled individual ought to use a data entry program that he/she should be able to explain. Most of the persons entitled to the obligation of entering data are the directors or managers and their deputies (Shortell & Kaluzny, 2006). However, all health care providers have the obligation of making various data that would help the institution to know the well-being of patients. Most of the data in the health services assist the institution to make proper planning and allocate the necessary resources that the institution may require most (Joint Commission Resources, 2008). 5. How would a respiratory care department use such a quality measurement tool in analyzing an adverse patient reaction?

The respiratory care department can be able to apply various tools in trending measurements in order to analyze adverse patient reaction. The department would be able to use the tools in identifying patient problems. This means that the tools can assist medical professions in the department to assess various medical records relate to the problem. The tools are also eligible to assist in determining the cause of the problems associated with this specific disease. Moreover, medical professionals may use the tools to rank the problem.
