Although the medical centre is equipped with up-to-date equipment and facilities, it may not be able to cope with the demands in the next five years. Currently, the facility has a capacity of 400 beds in the general unit and 52 beds in the intensive-care unit (US Health News Web). The medical centre may not be able to cope with the projected admissions in the next five years.

 The medical center is also a major research center for alternative therapies and pediatric infections. Currently, the institution is involved with researches on sickle cell disease and kidney diseases (US Health News). These researches are important however, the medical centre might be faced with the challenge of priorities. The Children’s Medical Centre values research and therefore it might face an unbalanced allocation of resources between current treatment issues and research. The institution is also likely to receive pressure for research from other government and non-governmental agencies and this will contribute to the challenge of allocation of resources.
