Service learning project A service learning project equips with an opportunity to associate and involve themselves with their communities. This is a process that takes place in a tangible way since it incorporates integration of classroom learning and service project. Service learning is an exemplary mode of learning since it engages students in the education process by applying what they learn to solve real-life experiences and problems. Public Safety is an ideal project in service learning project.

It involves protection and prevention of possible events that would result in endangering the safety of the public. These events include injury, damage, crime, or disasters (Farber 19).Problem in the communityPublic safety is a critical area in the community since it affects many people on a daily basis. Many people lose their lives every day due to different accidents. For instance, people lose life in cases of road accidents, fire accidents, disasters like earthquakes, and through gang attacks.

Public safety is a field that is experiencing problems which should be addressed in the most appropriate ways and shortest time.Names organizations involved in the projectFor this project of Public Safety to succeed in the society, intervention of various nonprofit organizations is necessary. They enhance the process since they do not focus on making a profit. The organizations execute their services to the community without any expectations for returns. Examples on nonprofit organizations that will enhance the project include the Government, Charities, Religious Institutions, Universities, and Hospitals.

Other nonprofit organization which will play a critical role in the process includes Emergency management organizations (Farber 26). Involvement of these organizations will help reduce the dangers that public safety entails.Actions to alleviate the problem Universities and the other nonprofit organizations should incorporate public safety divisions to alleviate the problem. The public safety division will provide professionals to educate students on the importance of public safety in the society.

The public safety division has officials with the necessary qualification in the field on safety. They include police and public transportations officials who will ensure that students learn to practice public safety in real life situations. Religious Institutions and Hospitals should be among the top bodies to advocate for adherence to the various laws that govern public safety in the community. This will play a vital role in minimizing the chances of loss of life that occurs as a result of public safety problems.

It will be an ideal strategy of handling public safety problems (Farber 49).Importance of knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and community helps in this projectThe Knowledge of physiology, community, and anatomy is particularly essential in public safety. It equips students with knowledge and skills that lead to healing of the body systems and organs. In public safety, the students should have the necessary knowledge to save a life in cases of accidents. They should have the ability to perform first aid services in case of accidents.

They should relate high sense perceptions to the functioning of physical structures. The structure and function of the human body is extremely essential in the field of public safety (Farber 63). The knowledge of community is also tremendously valuable in the success of this project. It helps one to carry out research and define the problems that people are facing. It provides a framework through which one constitutes the project. The knowledge of the community equips one with knowledge of the various organizations that will play a significant role and contribution in the performance of the project.
