Diseases are not the only issues around the world as health conditions must also be taken into consideration as climate change and modernization bring forth new problems to solve in the arena of healthcare. Obesity, malnutrition, and alcohol addiction must also be solved on a global scale (Kaplan et. al., 2009, p. 1995). That scale is the précised part of global health and not its geographic location. It then differs from international health as the former tackles both local and international health concerns which means international health is a subdivision of global health (Kaplan et. al., 2009, p. 1996). Global health then is still a big subject matter that can be broken down into various pieces.

Resources then were once a big challenge in the implementation of solutions for global health problems that haunted the lives of people around the world. Gladly, wealthy people and others have willingly provided funds for global health services to be implemented and improved. Despite those provided donations for the implementations, there are still challenges being faced by the world.

Diseases of the poor were tried to be eliminated as much as possible but the efforts seem to be improving at least though not so big (Garrett, 2007, p. 14). Improvements must be done to maternal care as the mortality rate would be a problem if it continues to rise especially the maternal mortality rate. It would affect the population significantly. In response to that, Safe Motherhood Initiative was launched worldwide to cater to the needs of pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers as they may need health support from medical professionals to ensure that both their babies and their selves are safe and free from diseases (Freedman et. al., 2007, p. 1383). Maternal care then is part of the wider health initiatives that become part of the global agenda.

People then especially medical and health professionals prioritize maternal care and other urgent medical needs by making improved health systems across nations and societal and economic status (Ollila, 2005, p. 1). It would be important to remove the social, economic, and geographical barriers for those mothers to receive the timely assistance of skilled midwives, doctors, and health workers. The Millennium Development Goal then must focus on creating and strengthening the services rendered by the local health centers as those are the outlets that are easily accessible to people in their respective locality (Filippi et. al., 2006, p. 1). It is very important to note that more than half of the cases of HIV are transferred through sexual acts especially when sexual fluids are involved.

It may also be transferred through breastfeeding through lower occurrences (Askew and Berber, 2003, p. 51). Then with its widespread, people contracting it experience discrimination that may render HIV Testing and Treatment less effective as they may not seek medical assistance while continuing their usual sexual activities (Bell et. al., 2007, p. 113). Programs are then created to ensure the control of its spread as family planning, counseling, treatment, and testing are done (Bell et. al., 2007, p. 114).
