The world is becoming a global village day by day and internet is playing an important role in this process. The internet gives an access to matters related to every subject, however, when it is about health it can be complicated. Health is something for which no risk can be taken as it relates directly to the life and death of a person (Eder, 2000, p1).
Though the internet has played an important role in the development of healthcare, there are still many reasons why the internet cannot be considered reliable in this case. On the other hand, the internet has been a helping hand for doctors immensely. The different viewpoints on this will be analyzed further. The main contribution towards the UK healthcare made by the internet is the access to a number of studies and advancements. On the internet, people from all over the world can share their ideas, researches, and discoveries. Healthcare is an area which is being developed every day as new medicines and drugs are made to treat several dangerous diseases still incurable. Because of the internet, if any doctor from anywhere around the world finds out a new treatment, he shares it on the internet which reaches the whole world (Joseph, 2005, p448). This has enabled many doctors in the UK to get in touch with other great doctors around the world and share views. They share each other's ideas and discuss to form new treatments. This enables many ideas and viewpoints to be shared and thus contributes towards the advancement of the healthcare system. The internet has allowed many doctors to research about facts from around the world and implementing them in their healthcare system to make it better (Bower, 2000, p5).
