A health care system provides treatment to all the individuals in a proficient and coherent manner. A wide diversity in the organization and functioning of health care systems is found around the world. In some countries, health care system has not evolved with the modern changes while others have made revolutionary changes by developing a well planned, organized and sophisticated health care system. Many organizations are involved in the health care system and all are playing their part in delivering a better health care to the patients. These organizations range from government bodies, insurance companies, charities to religious authorities. However, in United States of America, there is no universal health care system. The health care system in the US has always been under debate. In such a scenario, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of its unique kinds whose main aim is to perform vast clinical research in the quest of finding new treatment options and providing free medical care to children (Sisk, Elizabeth, Clare, Belinda, and Shawna). The research hospital was funded by independent individuals as well as organizational charities. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is not only one of the largest charitable hospital’s in United States but also among the pioneers in cancer research. St. Jude Children’s Research hospital treats the children from United States as well as from other parts of the world. Above all, the families in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital do not have to give any money for the treatment of a disease that they cannot afford ("St. Jude Children Research Hospital”) Organization The organizational structure of St. Jude research Hospital is run by highly effective team from different disciplines of health care system. The whole team is proactively dedicated to increase the work efficiency and developing Quality Improvement plans. St. Jude Children’s Research hospital leadership is very focused in monitoring the survival rate after the treatment. Within the hospital St. Jude Research Hospital has a Research Community that focuses on the survival rate of the patients. They have set different committees at organizational levels that perform their respective roles which are as follows, Steering Committee: Is the higher management committee that includes the leaders of investigators, head of the projects and chief executive officers. Their main role and duty is to monitor all other departments. Executive Committee: Executive committee work under the focused leadership of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s and solves all the administrative issues and conflicts in the departments. They also keep an eye on the regulatory process and implement strategic goals for the hospital to achieve. Education Committee: It is the responsibility of the education committee to provide all kinds of study materials to the healthcare professionals that includes scientific journals, newsletters, magazines, and statistical data on new researches. The Education committee also arranges for the content to be published on the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s website to make the rest of the world aware about the researches going on within the centre. Support Facilities committee: Support Facilities committee is a group of departments which support and help other departments in conducting their respective studies. Resource Access and Utilization Committee is in charge for marketing and advertising of the researched content. They conduct special lectures, meetings, symposiums and medical conferences to share the researches among medical professionals from different parts of the world. Research and Publications Committee is responsible for reviewing and rechecking all the analytical studies conducted within the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and make arrangements for its publication in different medical journals and books ("St. Jude Children Research Hospital”) Performance The hospital foremost responsibility is towards the sick children. It has a commitment to provide the highest quality care for the children and their families. St Jude Children’s Research Hospital team of doctors, nurses, researchers all are well aware of their mission statement and work at the highest level of professionalism to meet their goals. An amazing organizational structure and eagerness to increase the survival rate of children is one of the key reasons of success of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The result of this dedication has raised the survival rate of cancer patients to more than 80% in all types. This is such a big achievement in disease management of a problem that was incurable half a century ago. The most common form of cancer in children is the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. St. Jude Children’s Hospital has made tremendous effort in treating this cancer and has raised the survival rate of the children suffering from the particular cancer up to 94%. Also, the survival rate among the patients of cancer in the lymph system has increased to almost 85% ("Stjude"). Because of the extra-ordinary success in the cancer field St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been awarded with many awards. Peter C. Doherty, a researcher from St. Jude Children’s Hospital, was awarded with a Noble prize on his amazing performance in the field of physiology or Medicine. His discoveries were revolutionary that helped to treat special viral infections and cancers. Other than this St. Jude Children Research Hospital has been awarded with many excellence awards on its incredible performance ("St. Jude Children Research Hospital"). . Conclusion In a health care system gaining knowledge and then exchanging it is very essential at all levels of delivery system. The patient, doctors, Paramedical staff, diagnostic team, caretakers, researchers all together makes an effective healthcare delivery system. To get the best out of a healthcare system, it is of vital importance that all departments work in a coherent manner to gain training or education about the new developments. Primary, Secondary and tertiary care should be given in a well organized manner. Health organizations all around the world are trying their level best to get better with the passage of time. Financial support is a debatable process as per socio-economic situation of a country’s law. Whether the financial support comes from government, insurance companies, charity or individual’s support, it must not hinder the process of delivering effective healthcare. In this regard, St. Jude Children’s research hospital has developed an exemplary system against the financial healthcare problems US is facing. It is truly tremendous that a child without any health insurance or personal financial support can be treated within the organization ("PRWEB"). St. Jude Children’s research hospital has also developed a health care delivery system that is not only treating the patients but also organizing the data from clinical researches that would be helpful for future correspondence in healthcare education. All of these efforts ultimately improve the health care delivery system. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has truly set an example for other health care organizations that how problems in the health care delivery system can be tackled. References 1.
