Upcoming Technologies within the Healthcare Industry Introduction The health care industry is one of the fast growing and innovative industry in the world. In the last past decade, improvement of technology in the health care industry is quite noticeable. People now focus on the best provided services, high quality services at a reasonable cost etc. Advanced medical technology now allows the physicians to provide better diagnosis and treatment in advanced way. The continuous development of technology in the field of health care is also helping to increase the span of lives and also able to cure the serious and complex diseases. In the present world technology plays a vital role in our personal lives as well as in every industry. Health care is definitely one of the most crucial industries among them. The improvement of technology is required for saving countless lives all around the world. It is such kind of big field where innovation is required at each and every step. There are so many areas in the health care industry where improvement is required. Information technology, pharmaceuticals, bio technology etc are the most important areas among them. Development of equipment and medical devices are also required for improving the health of people. From the small innovation [like innovation of ankle braces or adhesive bandages] to large innovation [like innovation of MIR machines, Scan machines, artificial organs etc] all are required to felt an impact on the health care industry. Research Objectives Research objectives will help to clarify the research project and give some specific goals to the researchers to achieve the desired level of outcomes. This helps to define the focus on the research topic, indicate various steps which are involved in the research and establish the limit of the research or avoid collection of data which are unnecessary. There are so many objectives in case of improvement of technologies in the health care field. These are as follows: The improvement of technologies will reduce costs for treatments in hospitals. Improved clinical applications will cut the significant amount of costs in a regular basis. Improvement of technologies will also reduce the burden of more manpower resources. The productivity will increase by decreasing labor intensive work forces especially in this industry (Carlsson, 2002). It will also help to reduce the processing time. Without the technologies people have to wait long time for getting admission inside of a hospital. The testing procedure also was time consuming before applying the improved technological tools. Technology can solve the problem for waiting a long time before starting a treatment. The percentage of accuracy will be much more increased. Without proper technology doctors are unable to get proper result of testing and prescribe wrong medicines or start treatment in a wrong way. Technology will also improve the quality of the medicines and treatment system in a significant way. Implementation of new medicines will cure many serious diseases and illness. It will help in increasing the communication system between patients and doctors. The system of communication will be more personal, easier, flexible and sensitive. The maintenance of records of treatment and personal details of each and every patient will also help to deliver better quality services and it can be done by using information technologies. From the business point of view this can be stated that the records of hospital’s accounts and customer’s accounts can be maintained, accessed and stored in a clear way. This will give benefits for the tough competition in the market. Medical students will be more benefitted in their study by using the modern technologies. Improvement of medical technologies will provide wider economic benefits like high quality jobs increase the space of work for innovation and also improve the level of inward investment. Mobility can be stated as another objective of this research which will help to reduce the waiting time of patients for an interpreter and improve the quality of patients care services. This will be able to fulfill the satisfaction level of patients. Improved clinical applications will also help to increase the level of benefits of patients (Kabene, 2010). Literature Review According to Chiang and Kang (2012), this can be stated that improvement of modern technology has increased the average span of life of every people. The percentage of population also increased in urbanized and modern society. There is huge access in modern health care facilities. The greater knowledge helps to prevent serious illness. Human behavior has been changed and they become much more health conscious by adopting advanced and new medical treatment. The traditional health care industry has been changed. According to World Ageing Report this can be stated that the people aged 60 and above use the modern health care services 3 to 4 times more than the other age groups of customers. This indicates that slightly increasing the level of cost of health care services will not hamper the business. For example it can be stated that there is a huge percentage of diabetes patients in the world who are regularly taking medicines for getting rescue from this disease. If modern technology will invent more improved medicine which will be more helpful for curing diabetes then the demand for this medicine will be increased. Now if the price of such medicines will be slightly higher than the other existing medicines of the market then also the demand will remain unchanged (Chiang and Kang, 2012). According to Fasano (2013), electronic health records will create a clean and modernized interface. Mobile tools will help keep records of user’s identification, financial management, contact channels, personalized contents. Use of social media will also increase the level of services. Various health management tools will improve the diagnostic system and also the communication system between patients and doctors. Live nursing facility is another innovation of modern technology in the health care field. Improved health information exchange facilities are also helpful for people for getting information about the best suitable services. Advanced analytical work flow of doctors and nurses, improved clinical technologies etc are very much useful in the health care industry (Fasano, 2013). According to Armoni (2002), marketers know that customer’s satisfaction and good experience of customers will increase their loyalty towards the health care system. Health organizations now started to provide online facilities to its clients. These online facilities include reviewing test results, support group, nurse advice, doctor’s referrals, prescription renewal, queries regarding claims, reporting self tests, scheduling the appointments with doctors etc. Doctors now enhance their connectivity and maintain the availability of their suggestions by using e-mail and internet. Internet technologies are also used for improving connectivity and communication. Lab order entry, lab result, pathology results, pharmacy orders can also be accessed from internet and online services (Armoni, 2002). Research Methodology Research methodology can be defined as a method or technique that is used by researchers for doing the research work depending on this technique. This is the way to solve the problem of the research and find out the outcomes in a systematic way. In such case researcher can prepare a questionnaire for collecting data from the public. How much the people are benefitted from the advanced health care system, which facilities also required for getting better and quality services, what are the advantages and disadvantages patients are facing from the existing modern facilities, how much more improvement are required, is the existing facilities fulfill their expectations or not- these will be part of that questionnaire and researcher will get proper data for understanding the present scenario and requirement for further improvement. This questionnaire also shows the general profile of respondent [i.e. the age of respondent, their income level, standard of living etc.], their attitude towards the modern equipment and technology used in the health care industry, their feedback about the skill of doctors, nurses and other attendants, available medical information on websites etc. Field research and laboratory research are applicable in such case. Library research is irrelevant in this case. Questionnaire is one of the parts in field research which is already discussed above. Apart from questionnaire observation should be raised by the experts. They will indicate the loop holes and threats before implementing a new technology. They will also highlight the requirements of patients. Personal interview, group discussion, telephonic interviews also help in research work. Practical case study analysis will help in such case. An online survey can be developed to gather data about the process and offered services by an organization, quality of that technology, its importance and frequency of application. The data should be unbiased and collected from transparent exercise. Analysis and Key Findings In the part of data analysis and interpretation this can be stated that some top and more improved technologies are required which will bring a new era in the health care industry. Some of those technologies are going to implement within few days. These will influence the behavior of the customers and change the trends for using technology in this field. The points of data analysis are as follows: Innovation of human computer interface is required. Wi-Fi network interface will help both doctors and patients for exchanging health related data. Medicine industry will need to create clear strategies for accessing the complex issues. Productive market can be created by using improved technologies. Near field communication is required. This technology enables to exchange all kinds of data. For example patients can share information related to insurance and they can also do co pay transfers. In this process no multiple forms are required. This process also controls the purchasing decision of customers. A patient can get prescription information, prescription payment information by using this technology. E books technology is also helpful for getting medicine and treatment related information by using tablets or laptops or mobile phones. There are so many updated journals which describes about the precaution of diseases which people can know instantly. Social media and search technology will help the patients to get information about any pharmaceutical brands in the market. The information includes launching of new medicines or new services offered by any renowned hospital. Electronic health care records make a patient centric environment within the industry. It is a new implemented technology but its adoption is quite slow till date. It gives an opportunity to create new channels for communication and education system in this industry. It also shows a significant way top store data and the process of result based analysis. A robotic check- up is cost effective technology but it can manage individual reports and indicate vital signs without human intervention. Needle free diabetes care, electronic aspirin, cutting back on Melanoma Biopsies [it is used for curing skin cancer disease], valve job within heart are few example of upcoming modern technologies in the field of medicine and health care industry. Conclusion The primary objective of this study is future implementation of modern technologies in the field of health care industry. New technologies are invented and emerging in the market on daily basis. This will dramatically change the health care industry within very short time in near future. Invention of MRI with ultra high field strength and Cardiac CT angiography are few examples of modern technology in this field. Robotic neurosurgery, artificial permanent hearts, cancer vacancies are going to launch and available in the market in next 1 to 4 years. More improved medicines for diabetes and cancers, proton beam radiation; gene therapy for several critical diseases will be launched in coming 5 years. Implementation of such technologies will bring a new era in the health care industry and patients will get many technological solutions for curing their diseases. Health care units are now moving from their rigid decisions and build a wide platform for giving protection to patients and providing affordable caring services. This platform also helps to expand the life span of people. This scientific and technological contribution will also be helpful for nation and society at large. References Armoni, A. (2002).
