Type II Diabetes It is found that with type II diabetes, the pancreas attempts to overcome resistance by secreting more and more insulin so that people with insulin resistance develop type 2 diabetes on failing to secrete enough insulin to cope with their higher demands. Type 2 Diabetes can occur not only as a consequence of the pancreatic failure to generate adequate quantities of insulin, but even as well as in the event of ‘insulin resistance’ when the body is unable to recognize insulin or cannot respond to it in an appropriate manner.

In the absence of physical exercise and by improper diet, high levels of blood glucose build up. In certain cases, the effect of type II diabetes upon metabolic processes is found to have significant association to lack of sufficient rest. Similarly, when the pancreas ceases to work normally in releasing insulin, the role of insulin is greatly affected so that this hormone, as a result, becomes incapable of regulating the amount of glucose in the bloodstream. Based on medical research, type II diabetes is readily caused by a complicated interplay of genes, environment, insulin abnormalities, increased glucose production in the liver, increased fat breakdown, and possibly defective hormonal secretions in the intestine.

However, in general, the specific cause of type II diabetes has not been completely understood based on the studies made but the risk factors of developing this disease are typically attributed to ethnic origin, genetic factors, being overweight, age, and scientifically, whenever elevated levels of free fatty acids with hormones resistin and leptin have in several phases much to do with insulin resistance. Risks to have the disease may also form out of defective genes that regulate molecules that trigger high blood pressure whereas defective fatty-acid binding protein 2 (FABP2) particularly produce unhealthy fat molecules responsible for linking obesity and resistance to insulin.

Major complications of type II diabetes target several delicate organs such as the retina, kidneys, heart, blood vessels, and even stomach. Hazards of diabetic complications may lead to the worst situation of permanent disability and neural damages when poorly medicated. Such complications may include nerve damage or neuropathy, heart and blood vessel disease, hearing trouble, eye and foot damage, kidney damage or nephropathy, chronic diarrhea, osteoporosis, and peripheral vascular disease. An individual with type II diabetes may suffer from mouth and skin issues too since infectious fungi and bacteria thrive well in an environment with exceeding levels of blood sugar.

One concrete instance is that excessive sugar intake can be corrosive to capillary walls by which the nerves absorb nutrients thereby causing decline to the proper operation of the senses that bear negative impact on digestive and reproductive functioning. Similarly, diabetes can aggravate the already existing cardiovascular diseases such as the coronary artery disease with chest pain, hypertension, and arterial narrowing. Additionally, risks toward death and strokes may augment to more than twice the average rate besides further threat to heart attack whereas.

To an equivalent degree, complications may also bring about severe impairment of vision as in the events of glaucoma and cataracts including damages to foot area in terms of abnormal flow of blood and infections out of blisters or wounds. Type II diabetes may also reduce the mineral density of the bones as sugars in huge quantities tend to dissolve the bone’s mineral content resulting to osteoporosis while Alzheimer’s disease or dementia could be outcomes too via the diabetic action of having brain cells undergo shrinking or inflammation.

NIDDM (Non Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) or the so-called type II diabetes has turned out to be widely common within the American population of which about over ninety percent of the actual number have acquired the disease. Such figures are quite alarming that majority of citizens establish a growing concern to act on the principal aim of preventing type II diabetes. Better than cure, prevention is a must with healthy meal planning, sound physical activities, correct drug prescriptions and blood sugar checks.

To avoid acquisition of type II diabetes, hence, people have the alternative to modify their diet by adjusting the amount of sugar in food or choosing meals with sugar in balanced proportions. It is moreover advisable to get involved in regular bodily workouts that trim off fats and burn up calories that would rather accumulate in the system as fats and sugars in excess the time conversion to energy does not take place completely or appropriately. It would be of ample help for people to maintain an active lifestyle with controlled body weight to get rid of diabetes which may be inhibited through vaccinations and taking annual flu shots.

Prevention of type II diabetes can be carried out as well on eating foods rich in dietary fiber that diminishes the probability toward cardiovascular problems as fiber promotes less cholesterol and healthy blood sugar.
