Extract of sample "Tools for Measuring Clinical Judgment"

Clinical judgment helps nurses make conclusions about a patient’s issue after observing, reflecting, and analyzing available data.

An effective measuring tool for clinical judgment that will be employed in the current study is Tanner’s Clinical Judgment tool. In this study, the tool will be used in a pre and post-test design for using clinical judgment in employing JNC guidelines in treating hypertension. Its validity, which is the other thing that makes it suitable for the current study, is underpinned by its wide use in different studies. The results of the tool are credible and this is seen in the reliability of the results of the studies that employed it previously. A limitation of Tanner’s Clinical Judgment model is that it might not capture some aspects of a patient’s condition (Modic, 2013).
