Full Getting Educated to Global Competencies The world is fast changing because of the technological advancements and people’s lives are affected by these changes. In effect, individuals have to work and study hard to cope with their ever changing environment. As a registered dental assistant for at least seven years now, I know that I need to be updated with the changes in technology and additional information from recent researches. I believe that the information I gained from my studies before, is helpful in my current job but I also acknowledge the fact that information could become outdated.

I believe that the school is the most effective motor to acquiring scholarly and scientific information, therefore I want to finish my postdoctoral education. Moreover, I was educated in Cuba as a dentist. When I came to the United States, I was not able to practice my profession because of certain restraints concerning my education. I want to break this block by completing what I am required to, in order for me to work as a dentist. I know that there are more modern facilities in the United States that demand me to increase my knowledge and take necessary trainings for me to competently meet the requirements for my profession.

Therefore, I would like to take my postdoctoral dental education specifically on Advanced Education in General Dentistry Resident Program. This program will supplement whatever I learned from my own country. In addition to getting updated in knowledge and skill, I have a strong desire to become a registered dentist. I know I can successfully achieve this objective by taking my postdoctoral education for me to be able to get a license. I see a wonderful opportunity to succeed in this profession.

I will not just be helping other people through my job but I can also uplift my economic status as I perform my duties and responsibilities as a dentist. Another thing that drives me to becoming a licensed dentist in the country is the dental problems in the country. They are ever increasing especially among the poor because of the high costs of dental services. If in my own small way I could influence people as a dentist, I would like to reach out to the underserved. I would like to offer dental services at affordable prices to them.

However, in order for me to feasibly reach such goal, I need to become competent to attract rich clients who would be able to support my visions in life by paying what is due me. I do not like to sound so idealistic but it is truly my desire to reach out to other people through whatever means I can and this is one of the things I can offer my fellow human beings. I believe I can reach more effectively through many ways and people when I become a licensed dentist. I know I could also benefit from my education for my improvement, both personally and professionally.

I believe that with the education I desire, I can competitively offer quality service and earn clients who will be satisfied and might even commend me to a bigger number of clients. Consequently, my skills would be improved. I can also be counted among excellent dentists who truly love what they are doing. As a person, I know that when my plans come to pass, my self-worth would change positively. Therefore, I can also improve my social life. Economically, I believe that quality service should be quantitatively compensated in terms of money so I know that I could have a good future in this profession.

Furthermore, one of the things that interest me to continue my studies is research. I value research because it is through studies that facilities, information and services are improved. As mentioned earlier, with the technological advancements today, there have been many changes that evolved through the years. I want to be well-informed about these and know the kinds of services that could be offered to all kinds of people with different and unique needs. I know that research will help me a lot with regards to these things that I desire to accomplish.

I know this is vital in my next objective. Finally, I would like to complete my postdoctoral studies to become globally competent. The current trend in any business or profession is global competitiveness. I know that I have the qualities such as being hard-working, diligent and persistent which are valuable to global competencies, but I lack the education to make me be counted among the billions of effective professionals who have the ability to change the world in their own small ways. In completing my desired study, I know that I will be well-informed and will acquire an awareness of the different methods and approaches developed in dentistry for a professional to efficiently service clients.

With the aforementioned objectives, I look forward to completing my studies, getting my license and working with fellow professionals whose goal is to improve services daily.
