The law governing ownership of medical spas states that directors of the medical spas must possess an MD degree and can be owners with the advantage of forming partnerships with other physicians or other businesses. A physician or a director who has an MD degree must supervise the nurses or physicians carrying out laser treatment (Williams, 27). Since Dr. Goyzueta is qualified to be a director and an owner it is wise for him to venture into the spa and thus should target a better location.

Cons of starting medical spas in New York
Most of the fatal cases reported in facial surgeries have been associated with New York spas. This claim means that most clients are not willing to risk their lives for plastic surgeries in these spas. This proves as a challenge to generate customers for the best-paying services in spas. To ensure that the business becomes successful Dr. Goyzueta, should start his spa in New Haven where there are no such fatal cases reported since he will gain more clients. New York’s population comprises younger people as compared to that of New Haven. This is against spa services since past researches claim that 92% of spa customers are above 35 years (Williams, 22).

Background on the medical spa market in the Northeastern part of the United States
According to previous research that proves women spend almost 70% of their earnings on their appearances, the physical appearance among most females in the United States is one of the most important things (Williams, 22). This makes it effective for spa businesses where the population has more women than men. Most of these women are working and receive relatively higher wages in comparison to the population in Manhattan, which is lowlily populated and the spa services are not much of a necessity (Merriam-Webster's Geographical Dictionary, 2007, p. 34).
The traffic in the Northeastern part of the United States is heavy, making it effective for people to have massages during rush hour thus creating business opportunities for the medical spa. The medical spas laws in the Northeastern part of the United States are lenient in the essence that the use of laser light can be performed by advanced nurses.

Recommendations on the location, staffing, services, and operations of the medical spa
The fact that most of the higher earning services in the spa did not bear any fruits in the previous spa is an indicator that Dr. Goyzueta should consider a move to New Haven which is popular for medical spas and salons. This will ensure that he is guaranteed for customers as most people travel to New Haven for spa services (Sledge, Betsy, and Eugenia, 32). The competition is high in the area but Dr. Goyzueta being a professional for a long has the experience to compete and make it but he needs to enter into a partnership with Holiday Inn Express Branford. This will ensure that he does not bear the advertisement costs since the Inn is famous and his experience will ensure the Inn is willing to form a partnership with him for better services to their clients, boosting their competitiveness for more success. The essence that the Inn is located close to the Connecticut Sportsplex ensures that there are tourists due to the beaches making it favorable for the medical spa (Merriam-Webster’s Geographical Dictionary, 47).
Dr. Goyzueta should employ multi-skilled physicians that can render different treatments. This will ensure that the medical spa can offer more services to its clients. Since hiring qualified physicians is expensive, Dr. Goyzueta should agree with the physicians to work on commission bases where the physician will pocket 50% of the revenue he has generated. This will make the physicians more productive. In addition, it will guarantee Dr. Goyzueta that his work is perfect to ensure that he can maintain clients for more income. It is also wise for the medical spa to employ a qualified accountant to maintain the medical spa's financial record and advice the medical spa on ways to increase productivity and profits. The secretary employed should be conversant with medical issues, be attractive, and have good communication skills. Read More
