The result suggests that because of the spring break, students are free from college schedule; they tend to spend their time in fun activities and thus the drinking increases. Regular semester results in low drinking because of the study pressure. On the contrary, the driving motivation in typical circumstances is higher than in spring motivation where the relax mode of drinking was the same for both the spring break and the regular semester months. The student’s specific drinking motive suggests high-risk drinking.

This research is associated with the maximum drinking threshold in students. The number of drinks a student takes on average in the different motive situation has also been taken into account. In addition, this research highlights the negative consequences of drinking in spring break; and when protective measures were introduced to curb the effects of alcohol in students, it proved to reduce the negative outcome. One of the most promising methods is Protective Behavioral Strategy which identifies the root behavior when drinking and the outcome variables to curb the possible consequences of student drinking.

However, there are some limitations that hinder the accuracy of this research. It is limited to college students of a restricted area which might be a bustling attraction for nightclubs and other activities which promote alcohol consumption and thus relative behavior. Also, this research has 55 % women; a fact which make the results less appropriately applicable to the men. Separate researches for men and women should be carried out as they depict different responses to increased alcohol consumption (Patrick et al 2013).

Article no 2For this experiment, results for cardiovascular disease occurrence and its associated risk factors were taken from Pennsylvania Behavior Risk Factors Surveillance System. Data from subjects aged 18 years and above were analyzed and the results for age-related cardiovascular disease occurrence were computed. Variables were adjusted and the relation between cardiovascular disease occurrence and risk factors were analyzed using Logistic Regression. The results suggest that there was no big difference in Cardiovascular Disease occurrence and stroke in African Americans and European Americans in the year 2005 to the year 2009.

The occurrence of cardiovascular disease was greater in African Americans than European ones. Although through the years, the smoking trend has decreased, other risk factors have increased e.g. hypertension and obesity. Among African Americans, cardiovascular disease occurrence is 35 % greater than the of European Americans. The main risk factors were lower educational levels (education less than high school), hypertension, diabetes, smoking and obesity which showed a positive correlation with cardiovascular disease.

Throughout the years, there has been no significant increase in controlling the risk factors. The increase in the occurrence of cardiovascular disease has also been attributed to bad eating habits. The increasing trend of consuming fast food and the reduction in healthy exercise levels in middle-aged people has also been a major contributor. Due to these reasons, risk factors like elevated blood cholesterol levels and increased blood pressures have shown an inclining trend over the years. The risk factors for both ethnic groups have increased proportionally according to the findings of the research.

However, owing to the fact that the research method does not distinguish between both ethnic groups, the research results thus, do not provide insight into the relative consequences of the risk factors on both the ethnic group separately. If the burden of Cardiovascular Disease has to be reduced in the coming years, certain measures need to be taken to control the occurrence of cardiovascular disease. The prevalence of cardiovascular disease in Pennsylvania when compared to that of the United States reveals a remarkably similar figure, i.e. 7.

41% for Pennsylvania and 7.39% for the US. However, the main concern is for Pennsylvania because not much financial support has been allocated for its health department. Such fiscal deficits may ultimately lead to an increased burden of cardiovascular disease in future. No further steps are being taken at present to initiate researches to help minimize the occurrence of cardiovascular disease.
