Great Events in History My beliefs of justice are strongly grounded in my religions beliefs that are continuously shaped withmy spiritual growth. My belief about justice is also closely connected with my understanding of politics and history of how great events have unfolded in the past. In the historical context, my beliefs of justice have been developed by the experience of society, social orders, convictions, and values that have been developed over time. Since my beliefs on justice are strongly interrelated to Islamic religious teachings, they are interrelated with the teachings of Quran. Unlike of religious beliefs, there is no proper definition of justice in Quran and therefore my understanding is based on Muslim interpretation of justice. My view of justice is also partly open-minded since I strongly believe that no system is perfect to deal with all the complex situations the world is faced with. Men are the most decision makers when it comes to matters of Islamic justice even though we are equally affected by the outcomes of the decisions they make. I strongly believe that morality and ethics are the roots of all evil in the society and the remedy can easily be found in the spiritual traits. Life is sacred according to Islam hence should not just be taken away without proper accusation beyond any reasonable doubt. This therefore implies that life can only be taken away on the context of justice and law and not any other consideration (Abou & Cohen 71). The spirit of the Muslim penal code is to protect lives and promote justice and not the vice versa as many other people and religions have tried to paint it. Quran legislation for the death penalty in the case of murder, forgiveness, and compassion are strongly encouraged and the murder victims are given a choice to either insist on the death penalty or pardon the wrongdoer and accept compensation. The act of spreading mischief across the land on matters that are mostly related to apostasy, terrorism, piracy, rape, adultery, and homosexual behavior can also result to capital punishment according to the Muslim faith (Khadduri 102). The methods of punishment vary from place to place but the common ones in Saudi Arabia include firing squad, hanging and beheading. Executions are held in public places to act as a warning to those who may consider repeating such acts in future that their days are numbered. Vigilantism has no place in Islamic society and one must be properly convicted under the Muslim laws that require strict evidence standards before capital punishment is imposed on anybody. The act of homosexuality is highly prohibited according to my religion on the basis that it clashes with the natural order in which God created human beings. In the social scene, it brings destructions to the family set up since no two people of the same sex have the possibility to mate and give rise to a fertile offspring. The believers of Muslim faith should neither participate nor support such acts of gay either materially or psychologically at all time of their lives. We believe that everything has been created in pairs and such, people should benefit and develop a relationship based on the opposite sex and not same sex relationships. Pairing of the males and the females is part of human nature and the natural order that should be promotes in a culturally sensitive society (Khan 11). The Quran supports the relationship between a wife and husband as a relationship that supports love, tenderness and support and I strongly believe that such qualities can hardly be found on same sex relationships. There is punishment for acts of gayism according to Islam but there is no legal judgment for those who feel the homosexual impulse but are reluctant to act on them. Acting on homosexual feeling is a bad idea that is condemned and subject to legal punishment that varies from jail term to death penalty. The use of sexist, racist, and homophobic language is prohibited according to my traditions, culture, and religion. We strongly believe that no race of people is superior to another and should thus be afforded equal treatment both physically and verbally. People who verbally mistreat other people on the basis of their language are punishable by law since it is against human rights. The use of sexist language is also wrong in the context of morally upright society and such people are punishable by law. Addressing people with homophobic language is against the religious teachings and against the moral teachings of the society. The use of racist, sexist, and homophobic language can stir hatred in the society thus interfering with peace and stability of the populations. Religiously, these acts are meant to inflict injury to other people hence are against the requirements of God. God requires loving and respecting one another and refraining from acts that may promote hatred to others (Khadiri, 34). This question touches on the status of a person to the society due to his contributions to the society. I strongly believe that there is a hierarchy of belonging in the society that can greatly help in deciding who should get the few seats on the final lifeboat. Every society has important people that have made great contributions to our personal lives and the world. These leaders should always be given first priority whenever their lives are threatened so that they can continue impacting other peoples lives in other forms. The leaders in various capacities deserve to get the few seats on the lifeboat and while the normal people can just be left to survive on their own. People with less importance in the society like the convicted prisoners should not be given the few seats on the final lifeboat since they are a liability to the society. The great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, martin Luther king and Nelson Mandela have done so much to the society and the continuing to inspire hope despite their death and should always be given a chance to live a next minute if there is a possibility of doing so. The killing of Osama bin laden in his compound was a happy news to many people including the Muslims themselves who share faith with him. The issue that was greatly celebrated stems from the fact that Osama himself is dead and not the people around him including his immediate family members. It is highly believed and proved beyond reasonable doubt that Osama bin laden is the person behind the al-Qaida network that is terrorizing people around the world with his inhumane acts. Consequently, there is little or no evidence to support that this terrorist is involved in such inhumane acts with his family members and children. It therefore illogical to kill those who surrounded him especially his family members since they may be innocent of such crimes. I strongly believe that a person should only be killed is there is proof beyond reasonable doubt that he or she has committed such crimes. Killing Osama bin laden with the people around him may result into killing innocent people and this is totally against all the laws of justice regardless of religion. In conclusion, the acts of justice system are heavily dependent on one's belief on religion and the behavior of the society that have been developing over time. The death penalty is justified but only in circumstances whereby there is a proof beyond reasonable doubt that the accused is guilty of the charges raised before him. Before considering capital punishment, other avenues for delivering justice should be greatly considered to remedy the situation. The society exists today due to relationships between people of the opposite sex the leads to the birth of the young ones. Gayism has no basis in the society since it has no tangible fruits that can be seen from such relationships. Gayism is an act of moral decay that is slowly penetrating the society and should be heavily punished by the society and the courts of law. People who are gays have no rights in the society since they promote immoral characters and they should be taught the right ways and given opportunity to reform their lives. The society needs to exist in a coherent and peaceful manner and the use of racist, sexist and homophobic language should be avoided to promote such good traits. These traits are totally against the teachings of Islamic religion and should be avoided to promote peaceful coexistence of the diverse human beings. In the life boat, there are people who should get the few seats due to their great contribution to the society that can hardly be realized without their presence. The renowned world leaders and other important people in the society should always be considered with such privileges to ensure promotion of peaceful, democratic and development conscious society. The Unites States navy seals were right to eliminate Osama bin laden on accounts of his inhumane acts but they were not justified to kill the people who were present in his compound. This is because everybody should be accounted for his or her actions individually and not collectively, we are all different with different ideologies. Such killings may lead to elimination of very innocent people, which is against the rules of justice in any just society. Work Cited Abou, Khaled & Cohen, Joshua.
