? Is ‘spontaneous order’ a form of social justice for Hayek ? 11/06 Outline: Spontaneous order Spontaneous order examples with applications Social justice Social justice and spontaneous order relation Criticism on F. A. Hayek Is 'spontaneous order' a form of social justice for Hayek? Spontaneous order Introduction: Spontaneous order As from the name of spontaneous order it is clear that it is something not pre planned or pre scheduled in human beings life, but it is something that is created by the emergent behavior. In place of the spontaneous order the other word self organization is also used it is the process related to different individual related to different field of life and in different process the term is used and applied such as physical ,biological and social networks and economics ,so we can say that the spontaneous order is a process which is emerged by various kinds of social orders by the interest and willingness of the self interested and motivated persons who not preplanned the things or unintentionally who create order without planning . The life evolution new discoveries the changes made in way of life all are examples of spontaneous order that make its way towards the destination with the help of some motivated and self interested people. New needs new demands new ideas make smooth the way of spontaneous order and provide growth for this phenomenon. One mile stone when achieved in this journey produce new way for the next mile stone to achieve so the spontaneous order process and growth is directly proportional to the new coming needs and time. Spontaneous order is not like the organization run by the some authorities under some specified rules and regulations as the spontaneous order can come forward by any motivated individual not especially by leading authority a spontaneous order will make its law and regulations by its own way will not grow under existing rules and regulations, simply we can say that organization can be part of the spontaneous order but a spontaneous order can’t be a part of any organization. Spontaneous order is scale free network not bounded. Organization is something created and controlled by people while the spontaneous orders are not controlled by any one. It is ability of spontaneous order that is not bound to any region field or society it is the property of change and revolution where ever these two properties will be the process of spontaneous order will take place. Spontaneous order Example This is simply an ideology which is applicable in different areas of the life, due to its applications it is popular ideology in economical field and various economist appreciated its application in the practical economical market scenarios and process .According to this ideology the market economies can be emerged by any creative individual spontaneous order specifying their own rules and boundaries of working. Spontaneous order Markets application In economic field many classical liberals thinkers like Hayek proposed that the market economies are result of the creative spontaneous order according to his thinking more accurate resources allocation process on accurate places and output getting process is possible by the spontaneous order application, as compared to the organization working methodology. The economist think that it is the ever best methodology to apply as on the spot economical problems solving techniques applications is possible by it by any individual any time according to the situation beyond the limits of any frame work as it is not bound to follow any central decision or policy. The Foundation for Economic Education president Lawrence Reed, says about the spontaneous order as follows: Spontaneous order emerged when people feel alone and when entrepreneurs do their best for the desires of people and then according to the desires provide for them they act upon the market needs and check the prices which tells them what is the need of people and in what quantity it is demanded and it is better and productive way as compared to reliance on the elites. Spontaneous order Game studies applications Modern game studies concept is similar to that of the Spontaneous order. Historian john Huizinga in 1940s wrote that myth ritual great force laws orders science wisdom all is somehow related to the Spontaneous order in myth and ritual the great instinctive forces of civilized life have their origin: law and order, commerce and profit, craft and art, poetry, wisdom and science. Hayek notably in his book the fatal Conceit wrote that "a game is indeed a clear instance of a process wherein obedience to common rules by elements pursuing different and even conflicting purposes results in overall order." Anarchism and Spontaneous order Anarchist said that state is created artificially by some ruling elite and in true meanings it can be openly made by every single individual if the individual not the elites make it in this way it is necessary that elite ruling should be eliminated so the society can be made competitive and every one can participate in the society making process. Social justice It means that in society there should be balance of the rights and duties ,there should be reward for the right and should be acts for stopping the wrong ,in society there should be protection of rights of each and every individual and justice should be free for everyone it should not be specific for any elite. The grounds of social justice rely on the concept of the individual rights. Everyone should be rewarded and punished according to his deeds .simply Social justice mean that there should be proper rules and regulations for the safety of individuals and all the people should be treated on the equality basis and should be value for every individual respect and dignity . Social justice is teaching which is preached by almost every religion of the world for making societies sound and healthy. Social justice and spontaneous order relation First time the inter relation of the two terms social justice and spontaneous order was found by the F. A. Hayek according to him we can’t blame any system for the actions of the individuals ,he proposed the idea of social justice and he said that the limited involvement of the government and rules regulations will cause the freedom of individuals which will move them towards the social justice and enforcement of the spontaneous order in daily life .so in his views the spontaneous order will strengthen the social justice in the society but many critics severely criticize his view and said that total freedom mean spoiling of the laws building societies and human rights by the strong ones. Criticism on F. A. Hayek Kukathas author of the book “Hayek and modern liberalism” critically studied the ideology of the Hayek’s defense of liberal principles he both identified the strengths and weakness of the Hayek ideology said that the Hayek's ideology of the liberalism is not successful because it is base on the presuppositions which are philosophically incompatible. Is 'spontaneous order' a form of social justice for Hayek? Hayek did work on the spontaneous order ideology along with the social justice concept he defined his thoughts by providing his ideologies in different books he did mention and defend his work such as in the “The mirage of social justice” he said that mostly the laws and regulations not match with our situations and we just follow or apply the strategy as just imposed on us so it is against the social justice to not give freedom to the individual as to act or think according to the current situations which may cause to stop the change or revelation and may cause to deprive the individual form his basics rights. According to him w are almost unaware of the laws present for the implementation and mostly human beings act according to the situations they facing. So according to him in society there should be abstract rules for every one easy to follow and easy to adopt in such a way that a common man can get awareness about it and can easily implement it in the life. according to him it is not the laws that mold the society in one color but the ideas that make a society and make the individual act alike on same mottos and in same direction ,while on other place he said that if the emotions and impulses are moving a man on a way then of course the rules and regulations will define a pathway for him to move on and to reach on the destination .According to him the action or the act of will are individual steps while the common rules are general and abstract for everyone .he said in defending of his theory that There are no objective social facts mean laws imposition the most important thing is oar minds by which we can act properly and accurately and can judge the behaviors of others and all this we can gain by intersection not by limiting our self to the boundaries and pre planned acts. Summary Hayek was economist best known for his work in the field of the economic s according to his work spontaneous order is the key of success in the economical field and can assure promoting new ideas and revolutions as compared to the pre planned strategies further he established a relationship in between the spontaneous order and the social justice he said social justice is interlinked with the spontaneous order as the individuals gets right to do free according to their mind set irrespective of the laws boundaries, he faced many critics too due to this ideology ,but he defended at most of his side his ideology .
