Later in 1969, Florida international university was founded under the influence of President Perry chuck and other three prominent Leaders (Donald McDowell, Butler Waugh and Nick Sileo). With their influence, Tamiami airfield was brought to building, in addition to the constructions of the deserted airfield, a workshop was constructed near traffic police controller’s tower. The tower had poor communication facilities in principle that it did not have landline phones. With an increase in number of students who wanted to pursue education, it called for the establishment growth in terms of facilities and structures. Presently, Florida international university is considered to be among the first and largest university in United States of America. However. The group looked or worked to meet the demands of its client (students); therefore, spirits of entrepreneur were born in the institution, this lead to the establishment of some new technique that related to management and business. The school was officially opened in 1972 with five thousand six hundred and sixty seven students. The institution provided a variety of faculties both full time and part time (Tebeau, 1971, p.32). Later in 1976, Hartod Crosby was elected to be the next president, accepting to benefit the basis for three year period interim. During his leadership, the company expanded and opened a north campus. The president made numerous progresses to the university, such as implementing new programs that made individual students perform better. In addition, some courses within the hospital were looked into, for example, the program the president made with the Latin America and Caribbean. President Crosby boosted the hospital despite him resigning in 1979 which made the institution look for a permanent president who could take the installation with efficiency. This led to installation of the third president (Gregory Wolfe who was a white house statesman) to the institution. He also made various progresses to the institution of FIU (Didion, 1987, p. 25). In short, each president made positive impacts to the growth of the institution. However, the university always worked to establish and satisfy the needs of the students. This led the institution to progress at a faster rate since it admitted many students and product best elites. On the other hand, Florida international university does allow students from a different part of the world; the student do come with some new ideas from their mother country. This implies that FIU brought people of different ethnicity to learn together. However, students acquiring knowledge from FIU; they also learned different people’s cultures required the interaction in the institution. Some aspects of the cultures dispute led to neglecting of some cultural practices which hindered development (Didion, 1987, p. 55). Occupants of Miami City learnt to ignore some other cultural practices which could hinder the development of Miami due to the interaction of individual students from different ethnicity. One can easily assign that FIU led to development of Miami city. In addition, FIU offered education to the occupants of the city. This education was offered in terms of skills and experience was used to develop the city. For example, it offered entrepreneur courses or faculties which are highly relevant to identification of business opportunities and solving of business problems. These faculties lead to the growth of the city. Hence one can say that Miami grew fast due to the positive impacts of FIU to the city (Pieterse, 2008, p. 48). However, FIU was the first institutions to offer education to international students. This means students from a different nation came to learn in FIU. This resulted to market of some commodities in the city. For example, Motels could prepare international dishes which could be consumed by international students; this implies that commodities of different tastes had a ready market in Miami city. Thurs many companies preferred to invest in the city of Miami due to the ready market for commodities attributing growth of Miami city (Reps, 1994, p. 35). Interaction in the institution also provided a platform upon which one can identify different business opportunity. Students in FIU came from different backgrounds and upon interaction within the institution. Some students were able to identify good and business opportunity which could be put to practices around the institution (Miami city). To add on the same, an institution such as FIU is always a platform where one can easily carry out research. Hence one can say that Miami city grew rapidly due to the fact that students in FIU we researching on some aspects of business; Miami grew as an aspect of students from FIU putting their research studies to application (Pieterse, 2008, p. 39). With fact that the institution was developed from a traffic watching tower, it meant that infrastructure such as road networks around the institutions were improve hence setting a good platform for growth of the city. Infrastructure such as airfield and the road networks around the institution was good; this eased the transport of goods and services to the city. Thurs one can associate the development of the city to the institution (Mailer, 1968, p.63). It is ever a requirement for learning to take place, there must be security around the institution. Around FIU, there was security and hence various investors and stoke holders had not feared to invest in the city. Consequently, one can attribute that the growth of the city was as a result of the well established security in and around FIU. This made people migrate from various towns to come and live around the institution; the people who live around the institution, provided labour, market for commodities from companies. In addition, it well known the companies and factories like minimize cost of production and transport to consumers. Companies and factories were built around the institution due to the fact that there was a ready market for commodities resulting to grown of the city (Mailer, 1968, p.77). Rich historical backgrounds of the FIU provide courage and security for international investors. It is a necessary requirement of the international investors to look at the security of a place before they do any form of investments. Around FIU, there was rich historical background of security. This alters the fear of international investors in Miami. Thurs, many of international investors were free investors around FIU leading to development of the city. To add on the same, with historical records of a place, it is easy to determine or predict future of a city. Using the history of FIU, investors were able to predict the necessary needs of the place and upon meeting these needs, the city grew bigger and bigger with it backbone being the influence of FIU (Tebeau, 1971, p. 45). As discuss earlier, FIU was once a traffic watching tower; this meant that the area upon FIU was had a good or well established network communication. International Investors utilized this factor since a good business firm requires a well established communication in order to satisfy client needs. At that time, around FIU had the good established communication facilities. A good established communication is one of the factors that investors do look into before they decide to invest in a place. Communication plays a great role by providing information to investors and occupants, when identifying business opportunity and meeting the needs of clients; It a basic requirement for a town to have a good communication in order to develop to a city. Thurs, one can say that FIU contributed development of Miami city (Reps, 1994, p. 77). However, some facilities such as power availability was easily accessed for the area around FIU. Availability of some facilities like power determines position of a factory or a company. The area upon which Miami city was located was once an open field. But with the development of FIU, some facilities such as power was brought close to occupants and investors of the city. Energy is a crucial requirement of a town to develop. Therefore, international investors and stakeholders considered before starting a company of a firm next or near FIU because of availability of some resource, due to this, one can conclude that FIU contributed to development of Miami city; some facilities were made accessible to occupants and investors due to presence of FIU in the area (Reps, 1994, p. 27). FIU also contributed to development of Miami city in a chain linkage between FIU, and companies and industries, FIU led to establishment of factories and companies, these companies provided employment to occupants. With influence of FIU, various companies and factories were constructed. These companies and factories provided employment to the occupants of the city. With employment to the occupants, the town could easily develop. The occupants got money to purchase goods and services thus providing ready market to the commodities (Pieterse, 2008, p. 38). Moreover, FIU trained students in different faculties, this meant that it provided labour to the companies and factories around it neighborhood. Availability of labour is an essential factors which does lead to growth of a city. Students who can from different ethnicity were able to get employment to factories and companies. With the availability of trained labour, the companies and factories could easily meet the demand and settle those demands. On the other hand, people came from different nations to be employed around FIU. These people provided unskilled labour to the companies and the factories. These led to development of Miami city (Monkkonen, 1988, p. 51). With the construction of FIU, medical services was brought to the door step of occupants of Miami city, this ensured that the occupants around the area accessed good medical facilities. Facilities like this attracted people from all over the nation to come and settle around FIU leading to growth of the city. On the same note of medical facilities, people prefer to settle where they can easily access medical facilities. FIU had good established medical facility which attracted people to come and settle around the area resulting to growth of the city. Therefore, establishment of FIU medical facilities lead attraction of investors from all over the world resulting to growth of Miami city (Mailer, 1968, p.156). Consequently, administration of large numbers of students in FIU led to construction of affordable housing facilities to cater for the large numbers of students. This meant that housing facilities around FIU were affordable and available; many people therefore, preferred to live around FIU. This led to development of the neighboring environment around the university leading to growth of the city. Occupants and investors utilized this chance of the area having affordable housing facilities and developed the city. In other words, FIU led to construction of houses around it which investors and students could also use; people from different areas migrated from their place of origin and settled around FIU. Thurs, FIU made to contraction of houses which could house people and therefore leading to growth of the city (Bettison, 1975, p. 67). With the development of FIU, people came from many different nations to Miami. This implied that the city had a big population. This is one of the features which do promote growth of a town. The great populations provided labour both skills and unskilled for the industries, they also provided ready market for finished goods and services and they also provided platform upon which research could be done or practiced (Mailer, 1968, p.56). Aestheticism if another factor which determines a city, FIU was developed good sceneries within the institution which laid foundation to the occupants about definition of beauty. FIU was a well organized institution which has good and beautiful constructions; one could easily borrow the ideas of constructions. This factor laid a role in the essence that people admired the buildings. Due to this people from different past of the globe would be attracted to come and see. When they come to see the institutions, they do spend hence contributing to development of the city. Therefore one can say that FIU had an impact to the growth of Miami city ( Bettison, 1975, p. 67). Last but not least, it climatic conditions. A good climatic condition determines the shape and type of settlement. FIU do have trees planted in the compound of the institution. This play a great role of regulating the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since trees are carbon sinks. This means, FIU do practice activities which are environmental friendly. The climatic condition around FIU was a good one and did not hinder development. Thurs FIU made a favorable climate that attributed to development of Miami city (Monkkonen, 1988, p. 51). In conclusion, FIU laid great attributes to development of Miami city. Through construction of FIU, improvement of security in the city, ease the accessibility to recourses and facilities, led to construction of affordable housing facilities which could be used by both the student and investors, provident a ready market for communities which could be used in the institution, provided students with skills which could be used to solve various problems in the town, it also provided employment to some of its students and finally, improving the communication facilities around the area.
