The main similarity in which both Roosevelt and Woodrow share is the aspect of having their fathers die after the huge influence they had in them. The fathers were close and attributed to the success of their sons both in the social and political worlds. Woodrow’s father was one of the early founders of the Presbyterian Church and he greatly inflicted good morals in his son Woodrow. On the other hand, Roosevelt’s father was a hardworking wealthy man who actively encouraged his son to be aggressive in all that he did.

The two, Roosevelt and Woodrow emerged as wise and successful men who took the country a step further due to their qualities. Another similarity that Roosevelt and Woodrow share is the fact that they both suffered greatly in their childhood. They both suffered with serious illnesses that stopped them from schooling at some point and even in their adult life they continued to suffer from the ailments. Woodrow had a medical condition known as Dyslexia which is an illness associated with giving the patient difficulties while studying.

The first ten years of Woodrow saw the disease take control of his life and this gave him a challenging time in school. He however worked hard with patience and determination both at school and at home with the help of his father and aced greatly in his academics. Likewise, Roosevelt had problems with school due to Asthma. The illness gave him a challenge in that he never attended school but was home schooled. However, they both succeeded in their education. Additionally, both of these two presidents suffered another traumatizing experience as they both lost their first wives at an early age.

Roosevelt lost his first wife, Alice after she gave birth to their daughter whom he named Alice. Roosevelt’s experience was shocking as after the death of his wife he lost his mother hours later, who died in the house due a short illness. Both his wife
