Some people term a capitalistic environment as an immoral economic system which creates a lot of inequality and divisions among citizens of a nation (Rauchut 221). America’s economic system conforms to the principles and philosophies of capitalism. The economy is a free market whereby the forces of demand and supply guide the production process. This economic state of free market creates a lot of opportunities to citizens in general. However, there has been a concern about the morality of capitalism in the society.

In this regard, some US citizens are opposing capitalism terming it as evil and unfair in with respect to the aspect of economic inequality. In their campaigns, they assert that the government should act towards creating a society characterized by equal distribution of material wealth (Rauchut 215). America is a nation under democratic capitalism. However, the concept of morality does not support system of capitalism because it created inequality. In this case, we will have to decide whether morality of economic power should be prioritized in the US.

In my opinion, the government should not strive to correct this aspect of wealth inequality in the country (Rauchut 212). The issue of material wealth inequality observed in the US society is a product of capitalism. Capitalism presents an opportunity of free enterprise within a state. As a result, citizens can to pursue their own material and wealth creation goals as per the ability. Every citizen of America is free to gather as much material possession as possible provided that he/she does so through legitimate means.

In the international arena, capitalism attract foreign investors to America. In addition, many emigrants enter the US soil in search of economic freedom created by capitalism principles (Rauchut 231). These international social dynamics in search for better economic environments shows that capitalism is beneficial to the human population. The issue of inequality in material wealth possession results from the different economic efforts employed by the US citizens in their economic activities. In this case, the government would be upsetting the system of capitalism if it should strive to create wealth equality in the nation.

Capitalism serves to reward the hard working members of the society. The moral issue of inequality created by capitalism is justifiable because it depicts the unequal efforts dedicated by the citizens. Therefore, the government should not strive to change the economic state of affairs in the America (Rauchut 240) . Striving to create an equal society in terms of material wealth constitute an act of pushing for socialism. In the first place, American citizens rejected socialism as depicted in the history of America’s politics.

The practice of Socialism entails a state whereby the ruling authorities in a nation dominates production and employs the citizens in these production sites. This means that the citizens are left with limited freedom of owning property or creating wealth (Rauchut 213). Under socialism, the prevailing authorities regulate material distribution by paying their employees according to their needs and not according to the efforts devoted by these citizens in production. In this case, the government would be inviting the negative effects of socialism if it should try to achieve equal distribution of wealth among the American citizens.
