The two world wars that were fought between the span of two decades crippled the outlook and infrastructure of the world affairs on different fronts. Its impact fell upon the mindsets, the political spectrum, the economic aspects and as a result social outlook of the different parts of the world. The North and South both got impacted by it and led to a different life style following afterward. The Global North consists of the countries that have achieved relatively improved life style standards and provide its citizens with the basic needs and facilities. Even the Global North was effected with the political scenario that prevailed in the scene of pre First World War events and the post Second World War events. Japan for example was totally destroyed by the events that took place in the Second World War. Prior to the Second World War, Japanese government undertook offensive intentions that were dangerous towards the world as well as their own prosperity. The occurrence of the event of Hiroshima and Nagasaki crippled the entire structure of existence and led to destruction in totality. In the post world war second scenario, Japan had to start from scratch in order to provide the people with a means of living and also support their basic needs. In the post world war Two Scenario, the North had an edge over the South. Since the South was economically and politically weak, the North aimed at cashing in on this weakness and in turn provided them conditional assistance. This assistance came about in the form of political dictions. The events of the Cold War in the post Second World War events led to the more suited atmosphere for the North part of the world to bring about their own dictated terms upon the South. The South, badly in need of resources, funds and other basic needs to maintain their economic growth and prevent themselves from falling below the poverty line, had to embrace the tough and vested conditions and interests of the North. The events that took place in the earlier part had a greater impact for the major part of the 20th century. Its traces can be felt even in the modern times in the different parts of the world. The South American continent that comprises of the states of the likes of Bolivia, Cuba, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Peru are still in the throes of economic hurdles and obstacles. In the post First World One scenario, there were two distinct blocs within the Europe, United states of America and its other allies aimed at creating trust and partnership within. While the Central powers of the Europe aimed at taking revenge and were driven along the lines of hostility and vendetta, they in turn established military alliances and other resources that proved counterproductive towards the global peace. Bolivia is an example of prime case where the poverty is deeply rooted in the backgrounds and is not allowing the people as yet to live a life that would enable them fulfilling the demands of their families and kids (Cinedigm, 2014). In parts of South America, entire families are dependent upon one individual for making a living and that individual in his own capacity is limitedly equipped and either resorts to part time jobs or jobs that are not sufficiently healthy that would allow for keeping the family of six to seven members satisfied in terms of the daily needs. The economic and military alliances that were built towards the end of the Second World War largely dictated the outlook of the world affairs. For example the establishment of CENTO, NAM and other economic elements were reflective of the overall global environment and mindset. Similarly the G8, W.T.O (World Trade Organization), and I.M.F (International Monitory Fund), W.B( World Bank), all came into existence as a post Second World War phenomena. This was a gift of the North sphere to the mostly obviously poverty and war inflicted southern sphere .The South constituted of the underdeveloped and the third world countries. These countries were deprived of any kind of basic needs and facilities. Education, health care, job opportunities, clean drinking water, sanitation, none of these were available to the people, and as a result, they had to resort to the foreign assistance. The governments in place in these regions had to take up their aids and funds even if they came at a highly costs or alliances that may ran contrary to their previous alliances and relationships in the past. For example the Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan that were incorporated, were done so to introduce their own system of economics, own system of political order and own system of social structure. The funding that came along in the direct form of World Bank and other centralized and official entities was an example of how the global politics changed the dynamics and overall outlook of the global factors and affairs in the post World War Two scenario. Countries Like Indonesia and India kept themselves away from the bi polar activities and resorted to a movement that would enable them keeping a balance between the two super powers. This came about in the form of Non Alliance movement. This was in practice for considerable time during the early half of the Cold War which had totally divided the world into two distinct blocs with Eastern Europe directly falling into the hands of the Soviet Union, while the Western sphere falling into the influence and guidance channels of the American allies and American foreign policy. This was for the first time that United States of America had followed a policy of foreign outward interest and participation. This came about in reaction and contrast to the centuries old policy of united States of America where it adopted policy of isolation. The policy of containment was a reaction in the response to the First World War events where United States of America felt that its interests were being hit and attacked due to the passive approach adopted by United States of America through the centuries. Cuba for example as a prime agent of the Soviet Union in the Cold War was being used for the military benefits in the name of the financial assistance and other funds that it badly needed. As a result of this, the world was nearly driven towards a third world war when the Cuban Missile crisis got worse towards the 1962 and 1963. This drove the attention away from the conventional economic assistance and poverty eradication to a more bi polar outlook of the world where the alliances and counter alliances were built and established along the lines of political maneuvering and dictating the terms upon others in the direct and indirect manner. The impacts of the overall political order were felt till the late 20th century. It formally lasted till the Cold War came to an end, the world saw the last of the bi- polar outlook and ultimately the world could breath in peace. The present times, in contrast to the previous century and previously dictated political orders ,are more loosely based upon the lines of economic assistance through the entity of the United Nations and its specialized agencies. The Cold war may well be over but the modern times present different challenges. The menace of poverty is more deeply rooted and it needs addressing in the timely manner and appropriate actions are needed to be taken in this regard. The poverty has divided the world into the haves and have nots. References: Cinedigm. (2014, May 9). The ENd of overty?
