College: United s Probation Officer As a probation officer one is supposed to act as the link between law enforcementand released offenders or individuals serving non custody terms such as community service. These are responsibilities that demand humility and commitment to serving others. The latter are values that I possess, given the fact that I love helping people and serving my community. In addition to my passion for serving the community, I believe that my experience in diverse law enforcement institutions has equipped me with skills necessary to meet the obligations of a probation officer.

Further, serving as a witness in criminal court proceedings shows my commitment to justice and offenders’ behaviour modulation. I have also been able to engage in security circulation activities amongst clients and colleagues, acquiring vital verbal and written communication skills in the process. These skills will be paramount in successful execution of my duties as a probation officer.I will be highly honored to use learnt skills, to serve the community, as a probation officer with the United States Probation Department in New York.

I am up to the challenge of serving as a proficient social worker capable of handling the wide array of offenders, together with their families whether in court, prisons or even in mainstream community. I will fulfil my duties with diligence, to foster the department’s success in rehabilitating offenders and preventing them from reengaging in criminal activity. I intend to achieve this by challenging offenders’ behavior, and helping them reform their attitude and demeanor, thus protecting the general public from possibly of multiple offenses.

I have also committed myself to learning people and their behaviour, as part of my passion for law enforcement and due to recognizing the fact that a probation officer deals with diverse personalities and duties. Even though a career in law enforcement is bound to be challenging, I am confident that being a federal probation officer will give me a unique opportunity to optimally utilize my analytical, academic and immense work experience. I recognize that a principal part of my job will entail extensive interaction with law enforcement agencies and justice establishments like courts of law.

For instance, in order to ensure that offenders abide by the law I will need court orders and decrees to set offenders in the right path toward correction. Further, in the course of administering my duties to the community, I will need to advise individuals to seek justice from the courts hence the need for cordial relations with these justice establishments. My auditing and logical reasoning skills will be instrumental in carrying out comprehensive investigations and helping my fellow law enforcers in solving crimes in the agency.

Further, my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, in which I attained a GPA score of 3.8, will come in handy in my investigative duties. Likewise, my various probation certifications such as firearms’ permit, and metal detection, as well as, security licences will be pertinent to meeting my law enforcement obligations, as well as, in investigation and intelligence gathering. My work experience as a detention officer at the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), coupled with the acquired ability to work amidst detainees from diverse cultural backgrounds, puts me at a unique position to meet my duties with heightened efficacy.

This is because I am sufficiently equipped to interact with offenders and counsel them. I highly anticipate carrying out investigative duties, gathering intelligence and diligently executing other responsibilities required of me, as a probation officer in your department. I will strive to attain efficacy not just at an individual level, but also as a member of your dedicated law enforcement team.
