Acquiring a mentor is one thing, while obtaining their patronage and making the best out of this relationship is all that matters. All mentors must be approached with confidence and trustworthiness whilst maintaining transparency and openness between the two subjects. A rapport development is all that is required. Both parties must never be hesitant to discuss issues or concerns and eventually accept all feedback offered constructively. The individual needing a mentor must identify their strengths or weaknesses to ensure proper focus in the fields that require mentorship to be developed or improved. Patronage is established when the mentor is approached to introduce contact or references when and as needed (Don, 2006, p.131).

Conflicts can bring a business to its knees and must be handled correctly. Managing disputes requires identifying the primary risk sources and taking measures to escape them. Where they cannot be avoided, conflict resolution techniques local to the business must be implemented (Chip & Marshall, 2013, p.200).
