s A situation in our organization where consensus building was used was during the development of a hotel online reservation system. I and the other website developers had to have a consensus building to come to an agreement on the type of user interface to use. Our project manager was our mediator during the negotiation. We successful came up with a user interface which was user friendly to all and which was readily accepted making our project a success. An example of where consensus building could be used is the international negotiations over limiting inorganic fertilizers to protect the soil. 2. Shortages of knowledge – the other people involved in the project have minimal or no knowledge on managing the project therefore it is prone to fail.Lack of organizational policy –in the absence of a project manager the organization does not adopt a formal policy on the project’s management. Traditional and inconsistent policies cause in mixed results therefore project failure.Lack of enforcement of policy and procedures - even after policy establishment, it is not enforced. Because of this inconsistent results arise.

If a standard and consistent approach to project management is devised by a company, it must be routinely policed in order to assure accuracy and uniform results.Lack of project management complexities – people generally under estimate the tasks involved with managing the project.
