Green IT strategies and applications [Pick the Environmentally responsible Environmentally responsible concepts are proved by utilizingmetrics and their implementation is dependent upon practices. The basic idea of being an environmentally friendly company is to follow the idea of carbon reduction as this plays the main role in limiting pollution. Every company has its own policy regarding the green practices. In practical terms the policies about being environmentally responsible are designed by the higher authorities.

Inputs from officials of higher level are taken to shape the policy of the company. These inputs may determine various aspects like purchasing green equipments, methods of disposing used machinery, recycling of equipment, usage of energy sources which are renewable and various other environmentally responsible business policies (Unhelkar, 2011). Green MetricsGreen metrics are used to refer to the Green maturity status of an organization. When processes are modified to reduce carbon emissions, the Green metrics provide an idea about the effectiveness of measures.

They are derived keeping in view the plan of the organization to go green and they are valid in the sense that they are based on the current capability of the organization to adopt the change. Generally speaking, the green metrics are in the form of targets based on measureable variables. To achieve the objective of going green, the Green Metrics serve as indicators of the level to which an organization has turned green. Once the aims are set and policies developed accordingly, organization has to strive hard to achieve the objective of going green, since the process is multifaceted and involves a number of measures that need to be taken in this regard (Unhelkar, 2011).
