? Operating Systems and Networking Introduction Various ways exist through which networking brings fundamental changes inorganizations. Taking for example is the scenario of a storage and logistics company based in Surrey. The company has around 200 vans with drivers running daily nationwide and 3 storage warehouses in London area. They aim to offer the best services for customers needing temporary storage spaces and deliveries. This is an implication that networking their systems will enhance efficiency and in that manner increasing sales in the long run. This paper critically presents the network design solutions for the organization that will be essential to bring the necessary changes in due course. Background and Requirements The chosen case which requires solution is a storage and logistics company based in Surrey. Evidently through research, the company has around 200 vans with drivers running daily nationwide and 3 storage warehouses in London area. They aim to offer the best services for customers needing temporary storage spaces and deliveries (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 23). There is the need for any profit making company to have organizational measures and appropriate network design if the business is to run smoothly and make good profits. The organizational aspect of a company tends to incorporate a business plan which keeps the company or firm on track. Requirement Analysis Any piece of technological development comes in handy and thus being able to promote performance of organizations. The technological developments have enabled organized to adopt new materials and techniques which have as well led to an improvement in the kind of security being offered and delivery of products (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 25). In that case, any given business organization should be able to adopt such technologies and apply means of security and risk management operations. Such applications are vital in ensuring that profitable business involvement has been done and eventually leading to business growth and expansion. The issue of network design and security has become a new form of development which has been able to effectively change the focus of security and business transactions in majority of the organizations today. The issue of network design is something which can have great impacts on any given organization and the reason it is something which should be adequately addressed (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 26). In that case, implementing network design in addition to enhancing security is one way through which several different organizations are adopting in order to become effective and competitive in the business realm. This is a new kind of network design provision through which technological knowledge and tools have to be incorporated, and thus has been able to change the mode of performance. In any given business, there are very many issues and operations which are done through connected networks, and which should be safeguarded to avoid any damages and losses on the organization. This is so because such kind of a loss can have very great impacts on the organization thus compromising its future developments (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 27). As more and more technological breakthroughs continue to be invented, similar infiltrations shall be expected and the reason the security blueprints which was mainly more of physical security has been on the change, and that shall be the case for the coming years as well. This has thus been able to integrate the use of commoditized controls which should function correctly other engaging in other forms of risks management systems. There are various functional tools or requirements that are involved in a network solution. Such functionalities vary accordingly depending with the organizational structure and the network design to be implemented. That is been the case such tools help to develop a strong and reliable network design for the organization (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 28). This is the design, which considerably brings positive changes in terms of competitiveness in the business sector. Some of the basic functional requirements required for the network design take account of software, hardware, and other connections like cables. Network Architecture and Design Network Components There are various network connections that are available and that can be used towards enhancing the network design for the organization. The above chosen network design will be suitable for the organization. To some extent, there are several disadvantages and advantages that come with this network design. Looking at the advantages, this design will promote competition in the organization. This will incorporate various ways through which all the operations of the organization will be monitored accordingly. On the contrary, there are some disadvantages that will come with the design. For instance, this design is costly and so it will require the use of various resources (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 29). What is more, this design is complicated in away and so it requires personnel who are well trained. In its implications, the network design will require the employees to be trained, which will consume some time before they understand it very well. Network Connections There are several network connections that will be useful in the design. Such connections include computers, transmitting station, networking adapter, broadcasting station, transmitter, among other minor components. Each element ensures that the network design is effective and workable in the long run. For instance, the computer system will be helpful in ensuring that the entire organization is monitored and well configured. This will be achieved through networking the entire organization in the most suitable way. The transmitting station will be the base where the entire signal will be reflected before being received in the computer system. In one way or the other, this will form a benchmark from where the strength of the signal entering the organization will be determined. Critical Analysis and Reflections The network solution is designed in the manner which i have proposed in order to meet all the necessary requirements and address various issues in the organization accordingly. Given that the organization is a storage and logistics company based in Surrey, this design will monitor all the storage activities and control logistic related transactions (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 32). . The company has around 200 vans with drivers running daily nationwide and 3 storage warehouses in London area. That is been the case this design will take control and monitor the manner through which the vans supply products as well. Today information technologies and all internet-based Information Systems have become very significant in promoting and expanding business operations. For instance, the use of information technology help different forms of businesses improve the effectiveness and efficiency of businesses practices, managerial operations, decision making, and workgroup collaboration. The approach strengthens the competitive positions of a business in the rapidly growing and changing environment. We have three major fundamental reasons why all business should be ready to adopt new information systems and internet technologies. These are vital roles that all information systems can effectively perform for a given business enterprise. These include supporting the business operations and processes, supporting business strategies thus improving its competitive advantage, and improving the decision making processes by the managers, employees and directors. The modern use of internet and information technologies has helped boost business operations, decision making and enterprise collaboration. In order to adopt a professional information system, the high quality restaurant should acquire different materials. For instance, an information system is composed of hardware, extensive software, networks, and internet connections. There are also a number of resources needed to perform output, input, control activities, storage, and transforming the processing data into useful information products. The organization will thus be required to upgrade from their very basic computer facilities and acquire new resources and materials to make the system classic, modern and effective. The use of Information Systems and Internet Technologies can greatly improve the operations of a business. The effective use and utilization of internet systems and technologies can be utilized as an essential tool of modeling and reshaping business processes. It is the understanding of businessmen that information technologies are playing a huge role in modern business (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 37). The organizational logic of a business includes diverse concepts, planning principles, decision-making procedures and use of information systems. A small high quality organization can adequately use information systems to improve their business operations. Information and ideas are exchanged within an organization to ensure there is integrity and also improve the effectiveness of social processes. This requires the use of information systems which can process ideas for a business enterprise therefore improving the operations and service delivery. A modern information system also included internet-based connections. The systems usually have different components interconnected in such a way that they promote business activities (Bergman & Steven, 2009, P. 39). The systems are mostly made of software and hardware elements that work together to process a certain kind of information. Information systems can be used differently depending on the intended purpose and business expectations. Bibliography Bergman, k. & Steven, L. (2009).
