I discovered that senior and disabled passengers pay less fare for their travel. They are charged only $0.75 for a two-hour one-way trip. They can also pay $0.35 during off-peak hours that is from 9 AM to 3 PM and from 7 PM to 3 AM. The offer also applies during public holidays and weekends. I later heard from my neighbor in the Green Line train that the best time to travel by these trains are during off-peak hours because of lower prices. I started my journey on Saturday at 10M from the North Hollywood stop, where I visited the Noho Arts District before boarding the metro rail red line.

I observed that most people who boarded the train were the elderly. I sat next to a senior Muslim woman who kept giving me life lessons and how to be a woman of integrity. She was disappointed probably by the manner in which most women in the train dressed, which she termed as indecent according to her religion. I was fortunate enough not to be included in the list of coarse women since I was in simple trousers, thanks to the cold weather. Most of the passengers were women, and everyone was talking in the train making the place noisy.

Most people talked to their neighbors, and from the little I heard from those who sat round me, English was the common language. My next stop was at the Universal City station, where I decided to explore the Universal City Walk Hollywood. I then accessed the Red line from the Hollywood station, which dropped me at Tinsel town. Here, I headed to the TCL Chinese Theatre. The setup was more of Chinese culture, with most people roaming in the area being typical Chinese and Thai people. One child came running to me, perhaps asking for money.

He was in tattered clothes and spoke in a foreign language. I dropped $1 coin in the bowl he carried in his right hand after which he respectfully bowed and took off chanting strange words. From here, I boarded the Metro Rail Purple Line at the Wilshire station. The metro Local 20 dropped me at the Western stop
