The shop was especially recognized by urban people for its charming, appetizing, and sweet chocolate. The movie also incorporates another common character by the name Josephine who is abused and battered by her drunkard husband. The essay intends to use the movie to analyze HURIER model Which listening stage of the HURIER model is Vienne using the most as she listens to people describes what they see in the spinning plate? Vienne relied more on interpreting listening stage of the HURIER model as she tried to listen and understand people’s description and interpretation of spinning plate. By relying on the interpreting listening stage, Vienne assesses contexts of people’s statement on issues regarding spinning plates. Vienne also ensures that, people know that she has heard their interpretation and comments on the spinning plate. Vienne also listened to the customers’ emotional meaning of the quality and taste of the shop’s chocolate. This helped her in the identification of individuals who were appreciative of the chocolate and those who did not like the quality, the effect, and taste of the shop product. Vienne also interpreted non verbal signs that were relevant in assisting her in understanding people’s perception on her behavior, dressing mode as well as her booming business. Her effective interpretation of both verbal and non-verbal communication helped Vienne to recognize the mystical legacies, myths, and history that revolves around chocolate and its products. Her understanding of the myths surrounding chocolate also furnished Vienne with adequate information on the need of mixing elements for her comedy, drama, and sensuality recipe. As she stated, “I was very drawn to the charms and the magic of the village regarding chocolate products” (Brownell, 2013). Vienne was mostly interested in creating a balanced mixture between dramatic surprises and humor as well as definite and real emotional honesty. By interpreting people’s perception, Vienne was in a position to give people faith on their daily activities which they later gave back to her.
