WTO exists in essence to oversee successful relationships among WTO members in regard to global environmental, health, and human rights issues. WTO acts as the dispute resolution body for Members in regard to their respective rights and obligations. However, WTO is seemingly skewed towards favoring the more powerful states and large multinational corporations at the expense of smaller less powerful states. The way in which WTO oversees Anti-Dumping Measures and dispute resolutions among members depicts an overarching problem that continues to eat WTO.
Purpose of the report
The purpose of the report is to investigate WTO dispute resolution strategies and Anti-dumping measures to determine its effectiveness in addressing the environmental, health, and human rights problem for the entire world. The report also aims at highlighting the bias indicators in WTO operations and correlates this to the global environmental, health, and human rights issues.
Objectives
The general objective of this study is to investigate the effect that WTO-biased operations have on the deteriorating state of health, environment, and human rights across the world.
Specific Objectives
1. To examine the correlation between WTO dispute resolution strategies and existing global issues.
2. To determine the relationship between WTO Anti-dumping policy implementation and environmental issues affecting smaller less powerful WTO members.
Research Questions
1. To what extent does WTO’s dispute resolution strategies' existence affect the global environment, health, and human rights?
2. To what extent do WTO Anti-dumping policy implementation and environmental issues affect smaller less powerful WTO members?
Conceptual Framework
WTO is a global organization commanding a wide area of human life aspects. The success or failure of WTO has a direct and indirect ripple effect on the human population. Considering the global nature of WTO operations and the impact of such operations, it would be overwhelmingly impossible to approach this study in a quantitative methodology. Instead, a literature investigation supported with WTO dispute resolution case studies and implementation of Anti-Dumping law will come in handy.
Research Design
The report will heavily depend on a qualitative literature review. Read More
