BULLY: THE AMANDA TODD STORY affiliation First, Amanda was ed to cyber bullying. This occurred due a prolonged battle online after photos of her topless body went viral. She was also subjected to verbal bullying from her friends in school. This is illustrated by Todd changing schools due to unfavorable condition she underwent after the photo went viral. This form of bullying came specifically from her fellow students in school. She also underwent physical bullying. This happened when she was beaten up by her former schoolmates.2. One of the greatest consequences that happened to Todd as a result of bullying was death this is after she committed suicide.

Todd also developed anxiety disorder and depression as a result of this bullying. This led her to indulge into alcohol and drug which is not a perfect solution for such problems. As a result of bullying she changed her school and found new friends so as to forget about the bullies. 3. Todd could have seek the help of a counsellor before posting her distress online. Also the parent could have reminded her not to react to the comments of the anonymous person by writing retaliatory messages (Besag, 2010).

This is because majority of the bullies always want a reaction and such behaviors can easily make one culpable. With the help of IT expert, Todd could have reported the issue of bullying to the network or site which occurred. Sure enough the relevant site could deactivate the account of the bully. Also, Todd’s parents could have printed the evidence before deleting it. Then take the evidenced to the school or even forward to the police. Cyberbullying is a crime, therefore, it is against the law.

Alternatively, her parents could have advised her not to impersonate another person online. If they see certain status and posts from someone they are unsure of, they need to have them check to ensure that no one has really hacked into their account.4. The present and the past bullying are quite different. Presently people use their disguise anonymity to harass others. One only need email address to participate in a given group online. Unlike the previous bullying, one is easy to come up with a fake bullying and bully other anonymously.

There is also similarity between the past and the present form of bullying. In both, the bullies often prefer to target their victims who stay far away. They carry out this because there is minimum chance that the victims are more likely to hold them accountable. Other similarities include, common social implications and common psychological implications.5. Some of the contributing factors that might lead to bullying include; maybe a victim is underweight or overweight, may s/he is from a different religion or race, or the victim has a disability.

Prevention programs can reduce bullying in our daily setting. With prevention programs the bully will start appreciating everyone. Also with strict prevention programs there measures will put some fear on the bullies thereby reducing the bullying incidents. Consequently, such programs may give courage to the victims who are more vulnerable to bullying (Benders, n.d.). For instance, they may be given powers to report any incidents of bullying that might arise.ReferencesBenders, D. School Climate and Cyber-Bullying.
