Victims’ Rights Initiatives By Affiliation Victims’ Rights Victims’ rights are generally laws that require victims to havecertain protection, limited role and information in the process of criminal justice. The rights of the victims depend on the jurisdiction laws in the place where the crime is investigated and also prosecuted: whether on tribal, federal or state government (Beloof, 2012). The current criminal justice system in many states has worsened the traumatic ordeal of the inflicted offender in the past years.

Many spokes persons of the already existing movements are distraught parents to missing kids; parents to children who are killed by drunk drivers; raped women by bosses, boyfriends or stranger; people struggling to accept the past traumatic experience of sexual and physical abuse. These people have not experience justice done in their part to trust in the governing laws (Chan, 2007). Bill In order to adopt a bill on victims’ rights initiatives, it is important consider the toll of victimization that took place, lifestyle, emotions and financial course.

Many victims experience consequences and real costs. However it is vital to understand the manner in which victims deal with the ideal expected outcomes. It is vital to outline how the recovery process takes place in-terms of who does it and the availability of the services, who takes the responsibility to assist the crime victim and what takes place in case the victims do no access the needed and deserved help (McShane, 2013). These are the major information that composes of the concrete bill of victim’s rights that is workable to be adopted and implemented well by a state.

Victims’ Rights Bill for Tennessee The service unit of the victim shall provide the following services to the crime victim: The advocacy services for the crime victims Notification on changes in case of release date, inmate transfers, capture, escape and name change Explanation of probation and parole supervision processes Provide ongoing supports, referrals, information and crisis intervention to victims Provide appointments of parole board accompaniments whenever requested by the victim Give education, public awareness and training initiatives on victims of crime’s behalf.

The service system that is already in place through the available government institutions only needs a system that connects it with the victims. This will help in getting the needed information for identification of required services and act on them. Therefore, the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system can be used to register victims and provide the notification services. The right to information through notification allows the victims to be appraised of events concerning their cases (G.

Doerner & Lab, 2011). This is vital to victims in various criminal justice process steps. The system will be able to address all the required services in the bill through relevant communications. Conclusion Victims’ rights involves the right to be compensated rights to get notifications as structured by the state service providers, appearances to court- notifications and the ability to submit impact statements of the victim before granting sentence to classes of some victims (Ochoa, 2013). The victims also require treatment with respect and dignity, and court consultation in relation to restitution rights.

This bill will monitor and avail all information to the victims concerning the case and help them access the needed services to getting justice. It also provides an aftermath healing process of the victims in relation to the impact analysis. References Beloof, D. E. (2012). Victims Right: A documentary and Reference Guide.
