(NOTE: You are not writing the actual essay, yet.)   Use the following resources to search for sources for your essay. (TILT will be very helpful here.)  o EbscoHost (contains several databases, Academic Search, Business Source, Education Research, Regional Business News, )  o Proquest Newspapers  o Online dictionary or encyclopedia  o An online news service, such as, NPR.org, PBS.org, CNN.

org, Discovery.org, HistoryChannel.org.   Your search results should yield four (4) or the five (5) types of sources listed below:  o An article from a popular magazine.  o An article from a scholarly journal.  o An article from a newspaper  o An article, interview, report from one of the online news services listed above.  o A government document or report on your topic (TILT – Module 1 will be helpful here.)   Submit a copy of the first page of each source you find.   Submit an APA Reference page for the sources you find.

(This page will be different from the reference page that will accompany your essay because it will have a full APA Title Page (running head, title, name, university’s name) included.   As you search for sources, remember you are not going to find titles that are exact matches for your thoughts. Read the abstract (if available) or the introduction for the source(s) you are considering to help you decide whether or not you want to read the entire document.  TOPIC: THE PATRIOT ACT IS ILLEGAL THESIS: there is no doubt that the U.S. Patriot Act intrudes upon the privacy of Americans, promotes censorship, initiates racial profiling, and lastly takes the issue of national security too far.
