It is a novel full of illustrations, imaginations and depictions. Firstly, the fear of something bad is going to happen is built up within the readers. They are made curious. For example Lady Macbeth asks “Thick night to come” (Bradley 334). Mostly, the setting of the play is also during the dark or the night time. With respect to genre, people have many different opinions. A lot of people are of the opinion that Macbeth is one of the biggest tragedies ever written. However, others believe that this novel is just a lesson for other people.

Through this novel, people would learn about the factors that coax innocent people to indulge into heinous crimes. What actually causes people to commit evil crimes? Hence, only one particular genre cannot be attributed to Macbeth and that is one reason why it can be classified as a mix of genres or a hybrid. Also, mostly stories end with the hero getting ultimate happiness. However, in the case of Macbeth this is not the case. The hero is dragged towards destruction as the end approaches. Plus, one may assume that the prediction of the three witches actually came true.

It did, but the witches never mentioned any murder in front of Macbeth. Thus, we can say that the witches acted as catalysts in order to speed up the process but weren’t the real factors behind providing the throne to Macbeth. Therefore, Macbeth is a very different play. When it comes to tone, Macbeth assumes different tones at different stages. During the beginning, a very dark and bleak atmosphere is adopted and the tome is kept fearful. Little elements of humor come in but they are very recessive.

The over all tone is considered to be sad. Along with the fear and sadness, humor also finds its way just like when Macduff’s son and his wife cracks jokes about how Lady Macduff will have to go to the market to find a new husband. There is a unique art associated in coming up with such a
