The complexion of the corpse baffled the residents due to its unique features (Marquez). No one knew the identity of the body except for the oldest woman who mistakenly identified the body as Esteban. They pitied him imagining the humiliation he went through when he was alive. All the women were attracted to him. When the men arrived at the scene, they wanted to get rid of the body in the deepest part of the sea where he would never come back. However, when they saw the sincerity of the man in his face they also had pity on him.

The residents imagined how Esteban would have planted flowers on their land if he was alive. They all decided to hold a funeral for him and did the things they imagined he would have done for them. They turned the arid land into a more valuable one by planting flowers like Esteban would. An organization hired a temp, in The Temp, to organize database for the organization. Unlike other temps, she was extremely confident despite the humiliation from the other workers in the office. On her first day, she managed to do a job that most of them could never have done.

She made friends with the other workers because she was outstanding. She outsmarted every one of them in every aspect making her gain attention from her colleagues. She assisted them in realizing their potential by telling them the job that fitted each of them. When she left, all her colleagues resigned and went to pursue activities that they are potentially excellent. The temp made the workers in that institution realize that they were misplaced, engaging in wrong activities (Kahaney 294) The Scarlet Letter depicts a married woman in Boston who committed adultery with another man.

The woman had left her husband in Amsterdam and he was to join him in Boston. As a symbol of shame for the offence, she had to put on a piece clothe with the letter “A” marked on it and to stand publically at the marketplace daily for a couple of hours. Despite all the humiliation, she refused to name the man she committed adultery with when asked. The woman’s husband later came to Boston after practicing Indian herbal healing. He never wanted to be recognized with his real name, so he changed his identity.

He, therefore, instructed his wife not to tell anyone that he was her husband. His aim was to find out the man who had been sexually involved with his wife. After some time passed by, the governor tried to take the child away from the woman. The husband started to suspect the governor for his interest in the child. For this reason, he insisted that the governor was sick and needed treatment. He picked herbs that had grown from a dead man’s heart and used them to make the governor confess. The letter “A” appeared on the governor’s chest after taking the medication.

That way, the husband knew that the governor was his wife’s secret companion. On the elections sermon date, the governor confessed having committed adultery with the woman. He collapsed and died on that day. Same as the texts by Gabriel Garcia and Amelia Kahaney, the magical stranger in this case is the woman’s husband. The magical stranger positively influenced the lives of Boston residents. He helped Boston residents reveal the true character of their governor. He solved a mystery that none of the residents could and prevented them from re-electing an adulterous governor (Hawthorne).
