 Fidel Castros 1959 revolution and the effect on Latin America Cuban revolution is one of the most important in the history of the world which gave a whole new dimension to power and authority. Cuba is a small country but is known for its huge potential. United States of America emerged as one of the most powerful countries ever since it won the World War 2 and also the managed to get through the cold war period successfully. US have always been diplomatic in its way of getting into the affairs of other country.

It is to be noted that Cuba got its independence in the year 1898 soon after which America started to shows its influence in the social, political and economical aspects of the region. US almost started to occupy all of the major resource of the country and brought the entire control of the country under its wing. In due course of time, the Cubans rose against the imperial approach of US. Cuba is a communist region which follows the principles of communism to a greatest extent possible. It is a well known fact that US is completely against the communist approach which lead to a great lot of clashes among the two regions.

Cuba succeeded over the Bay of Pigs invasion attempt by US. Castro is looked upon a great communist leader who kindled the communist feeling in the Latin America as well. Fidel Castro handled things strategically and established a self sufficient communist region which is first of its kind in the Western region. Fidel Castro achieved a great deal of success in his protests against US and this inspired Latin America region to do the same as well. The Cuban resurrection model was well received and instilled the spirit of winning in the Latin American region.

One of the most attractive aspects about the revolution that drew the attention of the other Latin American region is the fact that Cuba managed to convert itself one among the best in the region. There was a great deal of development in the region and the Cuban economy stood fourth that time in the region. Also, the literacy rates in Latin America are quiet high with more elite class of people emerging. Prospects were looking more glorious in Cuba. That time, the other regions in the Latin America also felt the need to come out of the US wing and become independent in all of its dealing.

This made the US sit up and take notice of the condition. The United States felt that Cuba is a very bad influence on the Latin American region. Fidel Castro is one of the most enigmatic leaders of all time who claims that he is not a communist by himself but just follows the principles of communism which is the major cause of up-lifting of the Cuban region. It is to be understood that Fidel Castro succeeded in his attempt to influence the Latin American region with his enigmatic leadership and hi constant successful moves against America.

Fidel Castro not only established a strong communist aspect on the country but also made sure that he nurtured it to a great extent. The communist base in the US region is one of its kinds and Fidel established a strong position for communism not only in Cuba but also in the entire Latin American region. Fidel Castro heroic acts were all looked upon with awe and his strategic yet fiery attacks inspired the Latin America to a very great extent which was already having a lot of discrepancies surrounding it.

In about few years, despite US move to not recognize Cuba as a country, many of the Latin American countries and also European nation recognized it as a separate nation bringing out their support to the communist move in an indirect manner. The per capita consumption rates in Cuba was much higher than that found in other Latin American region thereby stood as a model country overall. Much leader right from Che Guevara to Fidel Castro made sure to provide with the best possible aspects to the region.

It is to be noted that the per capita consumption rates were quiet high for some food items in the Cuban region when compared to all the other areas in the Latin America.
