However, gaps have been identified in relation in the narrative related to the discovered tablets, but the metanarrative is still considered being clear. In essence, this epic provides humankind with an avenue to explore the fundamentals of humanity. The narrative presents numerous questions, which the human being continue to explore in the modern time. Such questions include what separates human beings from animals, what friendship entails, the reasons why humans die, the meaning of civilization and where human beings can get answers when various events occur in their lives (Tigay 5).

The Gilgamesh Epic presents more than just being an archeological curiosity, and regardless of numerous obscurities, this story is considered powerful and gripping. It is a fascinating adventure that attempts to kinship existing among men. The story also inquire about the price that individuals pay in order to be civilized and examines the appropriate role of a king. The story further, while acknowledging, also assess the existing attractions related to earthly fame. In essence, this epic provides a description of existential struggles related to a man considered being strong.

Gilgamesh has to grapple with the idea of accepting mortality and discovering the meaning of life despite facing the reality of death. On the other hand, the translation of this epic depicts love as motivating change in Gilgamesh. For example, Enkidu manages to change from being wild to a noble person and his friendship with Gilgamesh transforms from that of a bully and a tyrant to that of an exemplary ruler and a hero. Since the two are evenly matched, Enkidu is able to check Gilgamesh’s powerful energies while, on the other hand, Gilgamesh checks Enkidu’s self-centeredness (Dalley 68).
